Today, Burnley, Southampton...
Quote from: The Sound of Villadelphia on May 31, 2015, 01:36:14 AMToday, Burnley, Southampton...And a few more besides. I'm all for giving a new manager a break, but he's dropped more than one bollock. It's almost as if people don't want to criticise him because to do so would mean that the shit of the past few years wouldn't actually be over.
We will have to find out. Interestingly his tactics are seemingly completely ineffective in games where you would expect the opposition to be a better side on the ball than us, Arsenal, United away, Swansea, Southampton. Sides that are well versed in keeping the ball and passing it around seem to pull Sherwood's side out of shape, whereas previously under Lambert they were games that we would be in full self preservation and counter attack mode, with mixed to poor success. Against the other types of side, Sherwood seems to have done quite well, but home defeats to Stoke, Burnley, Swansea, drawing with QPR and losing at Newcastle when they were dog poor suggests he has a long way to go as a manager. He needs to learn other formations and when it is a good idea to twist, not simply send the same formation out because it worked once, that was Lambert's biggest failing. Where was Phil Brown today? Againts Liverpool he was on the touchline more than Sherwood but I could not see him during the game today?
Sorry but Tim was a long way off today. Whatever the capability of players he got it wrong.
