I don't think he got it wrong today we were just outclassed by a team who have spent a lot more.

He said this. After the match he said: “There will be some changes.
“There will be as many as we can possibly do. We obviously know we need to improve and I think I can improve the group that are already here as well.
“I’ve done that since I’ve come to the club and I need to start improving a few more and find different ways to play, which suits some of the boys who haven’t played today.
“We’ll start immediately. Some of the boys have already been told they won’t be here next year or they can go and find other clubs. I like to be that honest with them.
“I don’t want to let experienced players be strung along because I don’t think it’s right. We will be bringing in additions.”

Do you reckon he told those players that are surpluses to requirements this before todays game. If so that can't do much for team morale can it?

No way would he have done that, he may be a sort of cockernee, but he aint that silly

The performance today has put me on a complete downer I'm afraid to say towards next season which is a shame as I was looking forward to it just a few weeks ago when we were playing well in the league.

Cup final loses always seem to be the beginning of the end for villa manager, it was for Gregory and the writing on the wall for MON too after we lost the league cup final although he still shat on us on his own terms.

Bit dramatic with Sherwood not being here for long but I fully expect Benteke to leave in the next few weeks and then it's a massive challenge to replace him.

Why am I thinking it could go all a bit Di Canio at Sunderland when he replaced half the squad in summer 2013 with unknowns from abroad and Altidore?

I think Gregory's downfall was trying to take on Ellis.  Only ever gonna be one winner there.

Only a few weeks ago Sherwood was talking about how we didn't need much surgery.  Now he's hinting at wholesale changes.  Something has gone badly wrong in the last few weeks.

Well it has. Two abysmal league defeats and one of the weakest FA Cup performances for a long time.

I would bloody well hope Sherwood has revised his opinion.

I'd have thought the following will be shipped out if possible:

Senderos, Helanius, N'Zogbia, Wiemann, Sanchez, Lowton, Cissokko, Gill, Cole, Guzan, Tonev, Luna and Kozak

Not sure if Westwood has convinced him enough to be a regular either.

Will be interesting to see if Cleverley decides to join us.

I think Vlaar will stay.

I just think Sherwood is seeing how some of the players in the squad are not up to the task, a new manager does usually have an impact buy it does not last. I think Sherwood can improve us and we certainly need it. We had done great until the Southampton game, it went pear shaped there, why? Burnley was poor and it was much the same today, I want players who want to play for Aston Villa

Maybe when you are 5-0 down after 25 minutes, questions may be asked.

Didn't he say something along the lines of he wanted to get rid of the losers in an interview last week?  That again was strange timing I thought.

Oh I think today even at our best we would have been beaten, Arsenal were exceptional. But hopefully the last 3 weeks have shown Sherwood just how much work there is to do.

Some players froze, end of story. Instead of slagging Sherwood off, maybe think where we would have been with Lambert in charge. Championship me thinks

The team looked unmotivated and got steamrollered. Arsenal were first to every ball and Villa looked tired. We were lucky to go in 1 down at half time.
