You just get the feeling that the players believe in him and listen to what he says. A few basic tweaks and we have become a far better team.

He's made me believe again and feel that we can take anyone on any given day.

"Tactics Tim" sure is living up to his name, but perhaps not as people thought. Well played, well played.

Just look at the transformance in Benteke, TC and Jack. Tim's proving to be extremely influential in how to use certain players. Brilliant, nice one Tim.

I hope the tactics Tim moniker that the people who did not want him at Spurs will be dispelled soon. Second half against QPR and Swansea at home I think he set up wrong, but overall he has had a clear game plan for every game, with a different tactical focus. The way he clearly out thought Rodgers with the 2 withdrawn 10's in Grealish and N'Zogbia and using Benteke from the left drifting in completely negating the before match Skrtel crap was excellent.

He also got the better of the much vaunted Pochettino last week too. Which would undoubtedly have felt "sweet as a fakkin nut" for Sherwood. For a manager, despite having only been around a short time, who has been occasionally dismissed as an old school touchline maniac with all the subtlety of a hammer to the skull, Sherwood has bested two of the apparent new breed of forward thinking, tactically philosophical managers in a week.
Not to say those two managers don't deserve credit for what they've done, but Sherwood will hopefully get a little more credit in the near future for his brain as opposed to simply being seen as a grenade with the pin pulled out. Winning the FA Cup would be a start. At the very least there is an acknowledgement that he's doing a good job here and is effective at what he does. But he'll soon be getting more respect for some of his game plans. He's got it right more than he's got it wrong.

I never really understood the stick he got at Spurs.

Yes I know they got hammered by the likes of City and Chelsea when he was there but this is Spurs we're talking about, a club that's had like us a massive inferioity complex against the best teams in the league over the last 20 years. AVB's last game overall was a 5-0 home defeat to Liverpool.

He won plenty of games there, scored plenty of goals, got Adebayor firing which has been beyond most managers including Pochettino and they finished in a respectable 6th which is where they'll probably finish this year. That was without Gareth Bale in the squad btw which was a luxury Redknapp and AVB had.

So yeah the derision to me was strange which a few on here latched onto when he was appointed.

There was a danger Jacks career might have hit the skids under Lambert. There was of course the ill-advised tweet from the lad when he wasn't playing (despite showing positive signs in his brief cameos earlier in the season). It seemed Lambert didn't really have the guts to give him a run of starts. Sherwood has shown belief and he's been impressive, culminating in a very mature and effective performance today.
Having a manager showing him the faith like this will hopefully launch him onto big things (with us).

I think Sherwood was an Arsenal fan as a kid? http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/video-tottenham-caretaker-manager-tim-2952177 Not gonna go down well if you manage Spurs (they refer to him as a Gooner on their forums). Also I think he said a few things that upset the fans when Levy was interviewing managers when he was still in the job.

Oneil, Houlier, McLeish, Lambert, dismal for season after season, along comes a man who has no connection with Villa whatsoever, a man most of us didn't really want and he wakes us from the sleepwalk we've been in for 5 or 6 years.  With Lerner likely to be on his way weeks from now, things really are starting to look rosy again.

He's clearly learning and has a lot about him. He's got something inherently likeable about him.

Can't argue with that.
