Typical Spurs, trying to ride on our tailcoats.*

Tim, STFU about Spurs, noboday cares. Live and ride the dream with Aston Villa.

Harry Kane is absolute shit compared to Citizen Kane.. or even Big Daddy Kane.

He does talk too much about Spurs and about Kandy Kane. He also tells tales out of school a bit - why does Jamie Redknapp know first-hand from Sherwood about our problems? Hopefully he'll keep it innocuous like that, but it's irking.

What has Redknapp said?

He said Sherwood told him that the big problem with the players is that they were 'paralysed by fear'. Like I say, fairly obvious and innocuous - not to mention it's probably the same thing he's saying to the players - but it's still talking about them outside of the club, and to someone who obviously won't keep his mouth shut. It's not the worst thing, but you could imagine it getting worse depending on what he's saying - he's not spreading compliments around.

I hope he doesn't let it slip that we have struggled for goals until last weekend. I think we have got away without anyone in the media noticing so far. ;)

Ha, that's the thing - it's not like he let slip any particularly secret gossip. However, it is still saying things about the players to some mate in the media with no connection to the club, which is hardly the way to build a 'siege mentality'.

I don't think he's looking to build a siege mentality. I think he's trying to do exactly the opposite, and so far it seems to have worked. Lambert didn't say anything and was like a clam in the end as was his team. I don't know what the players receive or absorb of what the manager says, but clearly the approach Lambert took had exactly the opposite of any desired affect. The concern with Sherwood is if actually ever says something that becomes inflammatory. I just think most of what he says is harmless and he has to learn to be not such an open book all the time. I do find his worst days are the pre-match press conferences, because his post game ones  so far with us have been quite reserved and respectful, especially last weekend.

He literally said he wanted to build a siege mentality. If he's changed his mind that's fine, but it's what he said.

See to me siege mentality is about closing ranks and not letting the rest of the world affect how you. To create a shared feeling of victimization. Maybe he doesn't know what siege mentality really is. Or maybe it is actually something in between. Who knows? Just keep winning.

I agree on the last bit. As long as he wins it doesn't matter, obviously - it's just a bit disconcerting to have Sky pundits telling us that our manager was talking to him about the players.

yep, he's a bit too open book at times. But the other the other thing to remember not that this rectifies anything is that in a league of mostly boring managers and even more predictable boring interviews, the media will gravitate to those that are in the least bit different or interesting. And in doing so even the most "nothing" of comments gets amplified.

It's not the amplification which bothers me - in fact, like 'Arry, the media will never criticise Sherwood's 'open book' attitude for obvious reasons. I'm more concerned that he feels okay talking about the players on the record to gobshites like Jamie Redknapp. Who knows, maybe it's all a big ploy to change the 'media narrative' (vomits) about the club and the players. Somehow, though, I doubt it.
