Thought it was a bit odd as Clark didn't look injured and definitely did a double take when the board went up.

I was all for sherwood being appointed before Lambert was sacked.  He's said a few daft things.  But there is no doubt whatsoever in my mind we would have been relegated if lambert had stayed.  He hasn't just bought in manager bounce.  He's bought in some tactical know how and basically got these players believing in themselves and each other.  And that it's okay to score a goal.  Look at that attacking line up today.  That told me he was saying 'we are going to win this, we're your problem.'  Imagine today under lambert. Dour defensive crap designed to achieve a 0-0.  We've still got a hell of a battle but he's given us a chance.

Lambert went out not to lose a game and failed miserably, Sherwood sets up his team to win the game. Have to say I was surprised with his selection today, but he knew Sunderland were in the doldrums and went for the jugular. The players have obviously taken his attitude on board and are loving it. We have possibly the best old style centre forward in the league yet we played negative football
benteke's second was remeniscent of a Big Cyrille header

The good thing is, we don't know how good this Villa team can get. We might get something from the likes of Man United, Spurs and Man City, my expectations are different after the last couple of weeks and I honestly feel we may just pick up points against sides we wouldn't have done if we hadn't changed the Manager.

ive had similar thoughts mate. Spurs lost against Leicester and Utd aren't great at the moment. City lost to burnley too. We've got a bit of belief back and are playing well. Villa are back (whoa-ow!)

The thing about the April fixtures is Sherwood will still go there to win. Didn't he go to Old Trafford as Spurs manager and say 'so what?', Spurs showed them little respect and got a good win. Man United aren't anything special and Man City keep struggling. Not just today but they almost lost at home to Hull not long ago. We can pick up some unlikely results next month with the way we're playing at the moment.

The cross reminded me of John Gidman/Kenny Swain, was superb and the header was Peter Withe/Andy Gray like lol

Exactly.

It was clever, joined-up thinking.

Anyone else noticed how vocal and "present" Tony Parks is?

Seems very intense and involved on the touchline.

I wondered who he was.  Looks like a Kray twin.  Ushering the fans off last week as well.

I definitely would not fuck with him.

I saw after one of our goals against Albion last week, Sherwood was bouncing around and Parks was stood next to him, saliva rolling down his face, staring intently at some indiscretion he'd spotted on the pitch, like if someone had just told Ronnie Kray his mom was a slapper.

Tony Parks seems to have given a positive effect as well, loved his antics at the end of the first baggies games

Reminded me of Andy Lochhead!
