Despite the majority of pre match opinions of his team selection the performance wasn't too bad overall. I thought Grealish played OK and his movement off the ball was better than most of the more senior players

He got it right today. We were bright and lively. Great pressure. We also played some better stuff today too. Still a work in progress but at least there was some progress today. We didn't look like a doomed side today.

Impressed with the sort-of diamond midfield tonight. Very compact, Smethwick didn't have a moment on the ball.

Think he deserves credit tonight.  He even got CNO playing well, and the subs late on worked.  Haven't seen that much of an improvement so far, but there has been enough for now to give us hope.

It's nice to see passion from the manager too.

Good tactically I thought. Not very easy figuring out a way to unlock anti-football Pulis sides either. Well done Tim.

Considering how most of us doubted the line up we created a lot of chances tonight.
I like the fact he was brave enough to bring on Jack when he did, it proved a good substitution to.
Well done Tim, first local game game and 3 points.

Two goals against an organised Pulis side that had been racking up the clean sheets. Could have had another penalty, hit the post too so could have been more. You have to say that is a job well done. And our extra positivity didn't leave us wide open at the back either, they only had one shot on target from a corner.

We have a long way to go but we have a chance now at least.

He also said in the post-match interview that we can't play 'old-fashioned' football, we have to 'play through teams'. Granted, Lambert said the same and see how that turned out, but it's a start.

I'm all for giving a new guy a chance but he doesn't help himself when he says something that the opposition are bound to use to fire themselves up.
Don't worry, Drum, after tonight everybody will be claiming he's the best thing since Ron Saunders. They're a fickle lot on here. ;)
He's the best manager we've had since Ron Saunders. 😉

Not sure I agree with him sitting up with Savage and the boys in the TV studio analysing the game with them. He cant help himself when it comes to the media I'm afraid

Biggest thing Sherwood has done in the last few days has been relieving the pressure on Benteke and Gabby. To come out and tell them they were not to blame for the lack of goals due to the lack of service, was not only insightful but it removed the stress and rebuilt the confidence of the front two.

Gabby may be everybody's favourite scapegoat this season, Benteke has looked like he's going through the motions but tonight they played with the freedom and belief they're both bloody good strikers.

Next mission - to convince N'Zogbia to smile. But for now, well done, Sherwood. As he said post match, he's trying to solve two or three problems at a time. I've no doubt KMac deserves to share the credit, we've a decent team, even with a dodgy team selection, there's still lots to play with.

The main point is we are actually improving even if results aren't there yet. Tonnes more work but we are at least now looking like a team that wants to stay up.
