How refreshing it is to watch a post-match interview and see a manager with a twinkle in his eye speaking clearly and coherently?

Do you think that proffessional footballers earning squillions need motivating? thats not having a go but i am puzzled that these guys need motivation after all it is their living. You and i would pay the club to play just for the honour. The Baggies are the same, terrible results a new manager and suddenly they go unbeaten, until of course they ran into a much superior clu.

I think it is confidence rather than motivation that they lack. They have got used to not winning and scared of making mistakes. People have criticised Sherwood for some of the stuff he has said but I think it is exactly what the players needed, talking up a bit and reminding them that they are actually decent players and capable of much more than they have been showing.

Have to say I wasn't to keen on Sherwoods appointment as I've ever liked the guy. I know it's only one result but I actually believe now that he is the kind of character we need, yes he's arrogant, yes he's confident, but surely this can only be a good thing for the players. I like Lambert, but his body language was so negative that it must've affected the team. I think Sherwood is probably the sort of manager that you could only like if he manages your own team.

I didn't want him either, but am really warming to him now. Yes he's cocky, but every now and then we need the manager to let off a war-cry or two. He sees the simple side of the game, which I think Lambert often lost sight of. Bringing Grealish on ahead of Gil, Weimann and Bacuna (or Sanchez) was really bold last night, but could end-up being the kick-start that he needs. I know it's only 1 won, but so far, so good for me.

I've always said that Sherwood is the man for the job and Gabby is the best striker in the league  ???

If he keeps this team up he will deserve a medal. Long way to go.

I get the impression he isn't keen on Gil and Sanchez.

Sanchez hasn't played well since he arrived, and does appear to be out of form generally. I don't get the Gil thing at all though.

One thing's for sure.  Everyone of them is getting a chance to show what they can do.

I actually like the fact we've had positive press and general punditry (bar Jason Cunty) being pleased for us that we won, and I think that's down to him.

Gil in his last game was knocked off the ball very easily but it was against a team that plays it hard, horses for courses.

So he goes with Charles N'Zogbia instead? I mean, the guy played fine last night, but he was then replaced by Jack 'The Muscles' Grealish. No, I can't understand it, but let's hope Gil can force his way back in because he has real ability.

I think Gil could be good in the role Zog played last night - but then Zog did OK before tiring and Grealish did really well.

It could be fitness. He was struggling a little with an injury. Gil hasn't been here long so maybe he didn't fancy throwing him into a Derby match. I'm sure we'll see him in the coming weeks.

In terms of Sanchez, he was woeful the last time he played, so it's understandable he didn't play. I actually worried we might be lightweight last night without Carlos, but we controlled midfield and seemed to win every loose ball.
