And I'd like to add that emotionally I'm at that point in Rocky II when the distractions are behind us, Adrian and baby are well, and she tells him to "win", the bell tolls and the serious music and training montage begins.

Nice.

    10:33, 16 February 2015
    By Mat Kendrick

Live coverage as the new Villa manager meets the Press.

Sherwood was introduced to the Villa Park faithful on Sunday ahead of the FA Cup fifth round victory over Leicester City.  And, after the players endured a difficult first 45 minutes against their Midland rivals, Sherwood visited the home team dressing room at half-time to deliver a team talk which inspired Villa to a 2-1 victory and a place in the quarter-finals.

The new manager meets the media for the first time today (Monday) and we'll be covering his press conference live from Villa Park.

Our live coverage starts here at 9.45am, with the press conference due to begin at 10.30am.

10:46 an
Press conference over. Sherwood will now conduct more interviews with the radio's and written press.

Gregg Evans

"It's all about winning right now. I can't look beyond the end of the season. We need six wins so it will be enough."

He wants to be the Villa manager as long as he was at Spurs - not 28 games.

I was surprised when asked about our youth team set up he knew nothing about them despite his previous job and our success over the time he was responsible for youth team development.

Interesting that he seemed to hint that next season things look likely to change compared to previous seasons - maybe greater investment?

Players are back tomorrow so he's off to Bodymoor today to do a bit of planning then it's 13 cup finals, hopefully 14 with the FA Cup.

He has said the right things.

Although not my choice, a change was needed, and this time it really couldn't have got much worse.

That stood out for me as well.  When Delph signed his new contract he mentioned stuff happening after this season and it didn't feel like he was talking about the usual 'great future' platitudes you get when signing a contract.  Probably just talking about the overhaul of the scouting system and maybe something to do with the DoF role.
