He's 46 which by PL standards is not young. 28 games at Spurs was all he was allowed. I wonder how many he'll get at Villa?

Pretty unimpressed but I'll give him a chance unless he appoints a complete scumbag as assistant.Welcome and good luck, Tim the Enchanter.
I'd like to see him bring Hoddle and Steve Clarke in to help. Then I'd have faith.
Quote from: Ads on February 14, 2015, 03:40:51 PMPeople keep referring to these blogs and how bad tacticly he is... yet he still finished 6th. That's pretty decent going and fairly godly if you're an apparent moron too. Well, it is made easier if you started in sixth, and only managed for 20 odd league games. And did so well you promptly got sacked.

Tottenham goalkeeper Brad Friedel says Sherwood showed enough in his five months in charge to suggest he has the necessary attributes to manage at the top level again."I thought Tim, especially in his first managerial job, conducted himself very well," Friedel, 42, told BBC Radio 5 live."His win percentage speaks for a lot, and I think he did really well - he can walk away from this with his head held high.Play mediaTim Sherwood's final news conference"He is good enough to be a manager in the Premier League, whether at Tottenham or with somebody else."Friedel insists Sherwood retained the support of the dressing-room, despite the manager publicly criticising his team as "lacking guts and character" after the 4-0 Premier League defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on 8 March."Not every manager is going to get along with every player at the club - that is impossible - but he got along with most of the players," Friedel continued. "I assure you there was no turmoil at the club on a day-to-day basis. All the players were fighting until the end."
I think the reaction is harsh! We all wanted Lambert out we needed a man in quickly and there isn't a great deal out thereHe is driven determined and he bring confidence to the teamI think it's about time the fans got behind the team now and stopped moaning Up the villa

As I said on the replacement thread it looks like he's the only person we've spoken to at any length which makes me very nervous. I'll give him a chance but I think we've made ourselves look a bit stupid by just jumping in with the first guy who looked our way after Lambert went. They seem to have panicked a bit aout not getting someone in straight away.
Has the club not learned anything from that stupid four year Lambert contract? Why not give him the rest of the season and then think about a long term deal? Fucking idiots.
Been on a train with shit Wi-Fi for a couple of hours, get off, get in car and this is the first thing I hear. So, So disappointed. I'm trying to trawl my way through this thread so apologies if this has been said but, reading the official site propaganda I saw this: "We are determined to build a football operation with a long-term vision and a commitment to youth development. and thought, well, we've heard that before ain't we? and look where that got us.When they come to re-write the list of definitions, the one that reads: A refusal to learn by their mistakes will be accompanied by two words...Aston Villa.I naturally want him to do well but I can't see it. If he does, I'll be the first on here with a grovelling apology.
