Notice how the more possession we have the less effective Benteke becomes ..we pass from side to side get it wide then pass it back.

We somehow today perfected the art of having not enough players in the attacking third and yet still get caught on the counter attack.

We have been utter shit for 12 months it's an absolute miracle we are still not in the bottom three.To my eyes we are clearly one of the worst 3 teams in the league and Lambert is by a country mile the worst manager in the league.

Second paragraph gets today's performance spot on David.

I thought exactly this through most of the game.
eg: 2nd goal. Richardson is dispossessed because there's no-one forward enough to pass it to...in 3 passes, we're outnumbered in defence and they score easily.

These MOTD2 highlights are horrific. Our lads giving up chasing the Arsenal players for their second and third goals. Hutton was barely in his own half for the second goal, same for Okore for the third.

Hutton and Richardson need to be told that they both cannot go chasing shadows miles up field at the same time and also lads how about someone covering from time to time?

Fox said they both watch every match and come away with positives and enjoy it. The only positive today is that in Lerners tiny footballing mind we might be a little closer to a new manager.

The analysis on MOTD2 brought up an interesting point.  It was pointed out that we had more possesion% than Arsenal, and is the obsession with stats ruining the game? Kevin Kilbane said that players would check out their own stats first thing on a Monday morning in training to see how well they played. So if as a player you try and find the killer pass or go forward and lose possession you are berated by clueless manager, but if you keep possession and play it backwards and sideways, your stats will look impressive. That definitely would ring true for Villa under Lambert. this "new" style of play is all about meaningless stats.

"You created some decent chances" = No

"We were excellent for 60 minutes" = No

My first away game for a couple of years and one thing stuck out was the lack of anger at the result and performance by manager, players and fans alike. Most fans just trudged out from the third goal onwards. The players looked bereft of any response and the manager as usual said nothing of any value after the game. It is time he grew a pair and stated that the performance was unacceptable. Make telling decisions like hauling off Benteke or Sanchez when they aren't playing well. The players are so safe and sheltered it is unbelievable. He should have made everyone of them come over to the 2000 away fans at the end but no. The whole club is drifting to the abyss.
