By the way it's no longer footballing purgatory, it's graduated to hell.

Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert on Sky Sports: "For 65 minutes or so we were in the game. We had a great chance at the end of the first half and I thought Christian [Benteke] should have score after half-time. The goals after that were very poor from our point of view. The reaction to the goals was poor.
"It is difficult, when you don't score you don't win games. You have to keep working hard in training and hopefully it turns around. We had chances to score but you have to take them. We have to keep our confidence up. We came into this with confidence.
"We have definitely got enough [to stay up]. If we can do one or two more [signings] then we will try. It is not easy to bring people in but if we can we will. I am looking for anybody who can improve the side."

We could have been 3 or 4 down before Weimann's chance. Benteke's was not even half a chance, but let's not allow the truth to get in the way of your piss poor excuses.

If he gets another couple of players in, will we be going for 6 up front next week?

Lambert is nothing more than a chancer, bullshitting his way through the week. Does he ever admit that he got it wrong?

I look back nostalgically at the good old days of purgatory.

Every week he can blag his way through is another £50k in his account . That's the way he sees it I think.
Shame on you Lerner for bringing the club to this.
Fox is just another stooge happy to deflect from Lerner for a kings ransom.

This was probably the only game where the Godawful possession football of a month or so ago might, and I stress might, have been a more effective tactic.

You're all wrong. Hell is way more fun than this. All the dirty skanks go to hell, and there's loads of booze and drugs. This the in between where the water keeps on dripping on your head until you go mad.

But, it's exactly what keeps happening.
He keeps churning out this shite and thinks people believe it.
Basically, he's taking the fans to be unthinking twats who will just lap up whatever diatribe of shit he spouts, purely because he's the manager.

Ah purgatory! When we nearly conceded from every corner! At least it can't get any worse we all laughed.

After 6 minutes Arsenal had tried a couple of through balls, our high defensive line was just suicidal.

I can't believe Lambert thought that was a good idea.

He really needs to go.

Who are the poor beggars that have scored less than us?

It was reported in the Meaning Evil a few weeks ago. Latest update - Hamburg have now scored 9 league goals in 18 games, so still have 5 games to score 3 goals and then we will be the lowest in Europe! That's some record. Brings a tear to the eye

The most amazing sight of the day was some Villa fans applauding the team at the end. Good on them, but I would have walked out in disgust once the 4th went in

Bingo - Lambert doesn't have a clue how to fix the team's problems.

He's managing our unreasonable expectations.I'm currently watching Southampton attempt to consolidate their top four position and reign in my unreasonable expectation that Villa should be aspiring to that type of thing

What we have learned in the last month is that we can score goals against championship teams.
That has to be a positive for next season. surely.......yes ?
