That Weimann miss has already qualified for the performance being 'excellent' in the after match summation.

Ospina's quality. No more swining corners in the 6yd area from now on I don't think.

Sadly true.

So was Dixon.  Saying if you're missing chances then at least you have something to work with.  But if you're not even creating any then you have to change your style of play.  Which, mystifyingly, Lambert steadfastly refuses to do.

Well I'm relieved we're not losing by more, but I'd be tempted to bring Sinclair for Benteke and play Weimann through the centre. Need a lot more energy in second half.

We looked okay in patches, I dread to think what we'd look like without Gil.

Nine and a half hours without scoring a league goal

We'll score again, don't know where, don't know when.......
Could be MK Dons in August if we don't pull our fookin fingers out.

Nah, MK Dons are too organised for us to score against.

BBC more knowledgeable about Villa than I gave them credit for:

"Aston Villa are getting dominated in midfield. How they must pine for the days of Ian Taylor and Gordon Cowans? Paul McGrath would be quite useful to have at the back too. It's all too easy for Arsenal at the moment as another one-pass-too-many move ends with Theo Walcott being flagged offside."
