Guzan, Hutton, Okore, Clark, Richardson, Sanchez, Delph, Cleverley, Weimann, Gil, Benteke
Subs - Given, Baker, Bacuna, Sinclair, Agbonlahor, Westwood, Cissokho
-
Delph captain today
-
Them: Ospina, Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Coquelin, Ramsey, Walcott, Cazorla, Ozil, Giroud
subs: Szczesny, Gibbs, Gabriel, Chambers, Flamini, Rosicky, Akpom
-
We're going to sign Cleverley aren't we :(
-
Bloody Cleverley starting again then.
-
That's a pretty strong bench.
-
He played well against Bournemouth so lets hope Cleverley can continue that an improve. For a while Gabby was the undroppable one, now it's our Tom. Still, there's attacking intent in that line up and nice to see Fabian given the captaincy which he'll essentially keep as long as Vlaar isn't in the team. Let's have a go boys. That Arsenal team is decent but nothing special.
-
I will never understand this obsession with cleverley starting every week.
-
No surprise to see Gabby on the bench.
-

which is from where he can be effective if he comes on late in a game. He's not a starter but he deserves to be in the match day squad.
-
Guzan, Hutton, Okore, Clark, Richardson, Sanchez, Delph, Cleverley, Weimann, Gil, Benteke
Subs - Given, Baker, Bacuna, Sinclair, Agbonlahor, Westwood, Cissokho
that seems a reasonable starting line-up.

He looked average against their reserves. Well is a vast exaggeration.
-

And Westwood who is four best passer on the bench.
-
Nah Cleverley has been toilet since he's arrived. Does absolutely nothing to improve an already mediocre midfield, doesn't create, doesn't score, doesn't boss the centre of the park....don't want him.
-
We're going to sign Cleverley aren't we :(
Not for any cash transfer fee, we're not.
The lack of any other activity suggests that no-one else is that keen either, at least not at the fee involved.
It was a season long loan unless someone else matched the alleged £8M to make it permanent, and even then we got first refusal at that price.
If he's still here on the 3rd February, it just means no-one else wants to cough up Man Utd's asking price, nothing more, nothing less.
-
Cleverly is a complete bellend of a footballer, and I can completely understand the Man Utd fans who hated him being anywhere near their team.
Richardson is also complete garbage. Cissohko is much better.
Anyway, come on Villa!
-
Cleverly must have a play if fit clause in his contract, I'd definitely have played Sinclair instead.
-
I would have picked Bacuna ahead of Cleverley, but overall happy with that, and a better looking bench imho

I wasn't on about before the deadline....I mean in the summer.
-
If we can get Get Gil, Wiemann and Benteke on form today they could upset that Arsenal defence.
Our defence and midfield looks strong too.
My only concern is it looks good on paper but will they go out and believe in themselves?
-
Good to see Gabby dropped to bench, and to see Delph as captain. Would rather have Westwood or Bacuna than Cleverley - I really just don't see anything in him which justifies him starting every week.
-

That's probably what I would have done. I certainly wouldn't have started with a player who only signed two days ago.
-
Wish TC23 would fuck off.
Decent team apart from that.
-
Would like it if Fox could pull a few strings and get us a Puma kit deal....always liked their clothing.
-
I'd prefer a new management team plus three or four players
-

Them or Umbro. Next season is the last we have Macron.

I don't think it is. He played well against the team that opposition in front of him. He's never going to do anything overly spectacular. Bournemouth sent out a team they had used to get through the previous round. I'm not going to cut him down for that. I would hope that he ups his game significantly to warrant us signing him permanently off course. He isn't remotely worth the price being quoted.
-

TC23 actually makes him sound good.

Umbro....really!!??
-
Cleverly must have a play if fit clause in his contract, I'd definitely have played Sinclair instead.
what sort of stipulations (if any) are the loaning club able to put into the loan contract?
-
How on earth does he start Cleverley ahead of Westwood? He's just spitting in the face of logic there.
-
Cleverly ! Wtf !
-
TVC15 is an ok premier league player but that's it. It would be ok to sign him on a free or for a nominal fee but if £8m is correct, it's way too much
-

Yes? Can't knock their kits at all. The 'less is more' stuff they did from 09 onward was top notch.
-

I read this week that we charge the loaning club if our player doesn't play. Can't remember who.
-
Swansea got Jack Cork for £3 million. I honestly hand on on heart wouldn't sign Cleverley on a free, there's hundreds of thousands more effective midfielder's playing football out there.
-

Do they actually make kits for a top flight teams any more?
-

Holy hyperbole Batman.

Man City are still Umbro I think.

Honestly, not an over reaction. I don't see how he plays Premier League football, it baffles me.

True...never like their kits

It was the 'hundreds of thousands' bit that I was referring to.
-
There's been plenty worse players than Cleverley. He's not that bad
-
Hope Delph stays as Captain now. I reckon he'll be a good one for us.
Gabby isn't Captain material IMO.

Everton and Hull. Man City are Nike.
Don't forget Nike bought them, took all their big contracts and sold them off. Umbro are coming back up again and starting to get new deals, have had a bit of a rebrand.
-
I haven't been very impressed with Cleverley but i've seen a lot worse players in a Villa shirt than him. Having said that I wouldn't want us to sign him based on what i've seen this season.

Still prefer Puma or Adidas myself.
My Welsh top (adidas) oozes quality, but that's a story for another day.
-
Win please Villa, a win would be a huge result.

That's what I tried to say...and failed. Lots of players.... :)
-
Is that the first time in history that "Welsh" and "quality" have been used in the same sentence?
/popcorn

Apart from the odd quality record breaking Welsh winger....yep!
-
Good afternoon, gents.
As I'm not expecting anything from us today, up against a very in form Arsenal side, maybe, just maybe, we can pull off a real shock result. Two wins in 17 is beyond pathetic but now there are no excuses, we have supposedly our best team available, so let's see what we're all about.
-
Bad feeling about this one.
-
Find it weird that Richardson is starting in front of Cissokho.
-

my point being he's not a second tier player so when you assess how many players play at the top level of the game in one of the established leagues around the world there isn't thousands of players in his position that are better than him. The number is significantly smaller which in your post above might be more accurate.
-
Prepare for marmalisation.
-
I'm sitting in a different place today (at the dinning table) in an attempt to break the hex of my sofa watching days.
-
Get into 'em!
-
Don't like to see Weimann out wide.
-
Great early block by Okore
-
Good from Okore. Don't like us playing a high line against this lot.
-
Where are the Arsenal fans?
-

Great

Coincedentally so am I.
-
Good from Okore. Don't like us playing a high line against this lot.
Sitting deep isn't a good option either. We have to press them so there is some risk in that.
-
Move Benteke.
-
Afternoon all. Best defensive record outside the top 4 Dixon just said. Let's see.
-
Our defensive line is higher than Dec McParlanes hairline
-
Swap Cissokho and Westy for Richardson and Clevs and I think we're a better team.
Not a big fan of Weimann outwide, but he'll work hard atleast.
-
Stunned to see Richardson keep his place. Looks like we will be more expansive on the ball but thought a lot of the defensive jitters last time out were down to his positioning.
Another chance for Cleverley, understandable I guess but I'd have Bacuna in there for a game like this.
Arsenal look very weak at full back but we don't really have the players to exploit there.
-
Arsenal look very weak at full back but we don't really have the players to exploit there.
I'm not sure we'll be seeing a lot of exploiting by us today.
-
A couple of good passes from TC so far.
-
Sanchez needs to liven up.
-
Wayward passing from nearly everyone else.
-
There you go. All done.
-
Fook. 0-1. Giroud
-
Bugger. Could be a long afternoon
-
Really poor defensively
-
Bollocks. Could be a long day.
-
And that was that.
-
Terrible, it was a brilliant touch but far too easy. We need to wake the fuck up or we're going to get battered here.
-
great defending
-
Class touch just wrecked us.
-
Richardson
-
Poor centre back play
-
Dixon was just saying that he'd been talking to Tayls who had told him that he didn't think Benteke looked interested of late.
-
Don't like us playing a high line against this lot.
Prophetic.
-
And that is why I don't like a high line against this lot. One lump forward leads to a clear break.
-
Possibly another Lambert-style spanking?
Any new records at stake today?
-
Abysmal defending. We are keeping a high line up against serious pace, just asking for trouble.
-
Benteke should be subbed at half time if his half arsed attitude continues.
-
Game over in less than 8 minutes.
-
I got a bad feeling about this.
-
What the f**k is Okore doing?
-
Defence all over the place.
-
oh no here comes our annual slaughter in London!
-
Afternoon chaps and chappeses. My preferred site is not well today and......we have gone one down. Oh well Luckily I have found Peter Withe
on the radio so its him and you lot for me today.
-
Enough with this faffing about with the ball from the CBs.
-
They press in numbers well fair do's
-
Lots of false narratives going on here.
Depressing to think that even if we lost this on 15-0 we'd still be stuck with this idiot manager.
-
Fuck me we're all over the place.
-
I predicted a 4-0 defeat, right now I'd probably take it. This could get nasty.
-
This is abysmal. Continually giving the ball away and all over the place at the back.
-
The midfielders are static, Arsenal forwards and midfielders running straight through the whole Villa team and we are getting seriously outnumbered.
-
Let's see after 90 mins before we throw our toys out
-
STop giving the ball away FFS
-
Lots of false narratives going on here.
lots and lots of false narratives. Give it 5 years and we'll be able to compete with Stoke
-
Thus far this is fucking atrocious.
-
Decent from Gil.
-
9 hours without a PL goal . 9 hours !
-
Possibly another Lambert-style spanking?
Any new records at stake today?yes, our longest time without a league goal
-
Let's see after 90 mins before we throw our toys out
Something tells me we won't have to wait that long.
-
Commentator said we are the team that scores the least goals in the entire Football system down to and including Div 9! (Some 650 teams)
Now if that is fact for any premier league club when half the season is over....how can the manager keep his job? Has that even happend before?
-
This is what happens when your manager has the IQ of a sock puppet.
-
Let's see after 90 mins before we throw our toys out
Something tells me we won't have to wait that long.
Ha, never on this forum...
-
is it really a hard job to make a team that is difficult to break down?
-
I think I have Lamberts jacket....where's the receipt
-
Good from Gil again, he does look a player.
-
Hutton that is atrocious.
-
This is what happens when your manager has the IQ of a sock puppet.
I like that
-
What a mess.
-

-
Lamb-ert.
-
And because we always bring all 11 back Guzan had no one on for the quick throw and break.
-
Hmm. Playing away at the Emirates against an in-form Arsenal. So why has he dropped Cissokho, who can defend, for Richardson, who can't really?
-
This is what happens when your manager has the IQ of a sock puppet.
fucked it
-
"What's that you say Paul?"
*Randy holds Paul Lambert up to his ear and jiggles him a bit*
"We were excellent? Yes, we were excellent, weren't we?"
-

-
Laughing stock, absolute laughing stock.
-
Thus far this is fucking atrocious.
I can't see it but....Lambert out. Are we playing a zonal system? Peter Withe thinks Delph is marking Giroud.
-
This is what happens when your manager has the IQ of a sock puppet.
Brilliant...
Where's his note pad??
-
What the fuck is happening with Sanchez today?! Good grief!
-
Richardson is a shit fullback, should be starting the more defensively sound Cissokho and what's starting with a really high line?
Lambert is gormless.
Back to reality anyway after being a low league opposition at home. How many league games is it now without scoring? I forget.
-
This is pretty painful.
-
We've actually been a bit better in the last 5 minutes but it's slim pickings really.
-
The work rate is OK but our passing is atrocious. Arsenal are one of the best sides at keeping the ball and passing so it's showing us up, but we have to keep working and pressing them, we can pinch a goal
-
Passing from Sanchez has been wank so far.
-
Look at the difference of class in midfield...that's what big bucks buy you.
-
What the fuck is happening with Sanchez today?! Good grief!
Probably confused by Lambores constantly changing plans and ideas. We need a proper manager with some coaches in to get the best out of some of these good players. Instead we have that feckless idiot running the circus backed up by his superiors because they love a yes man sending the team out running round like headless chickens chasing shadows.
-
I'm out anyway, can't be arsed wasting another weekend watching this shower.
-
It's dreadful to watch. Hutton and Sanchez have repeatedly given the ball away. Cleverly has done nothing. Again.
-
Steam radio suggests we are not playing too well.
-
Hutton knows how to defend, so I'd have him 100% on crossing during training in the week. From dawn till dusk.
-
Commentator saying the Hull/Newcastle/Stoke/Boggies games crucial. Bit like the Palace & Sunderland games then
-
Lambore? Really, that's bad.
Nothing against you, just the hilarious nicknames are something I'd put straight into Room 101.
-
That Coq-au-vin is a dirty player.
-
Lets face it we could fail to win another game this season and fail to score twenty goals and the idiots who run our club would still tell us how wonderful the clueless one is and he wont be sacked
-
I might have been conditioned by the last few years, but since turning on 5-10 minutes ago, it hasn't been dreadful.
-
Lucky - saved by the post
-
We've done okay apart from that few mins of being all over the place. And that!
-
Watching Villa is like a fever dream. The same troubling scene, over and over and over again.
-
just got back from Highbury
afternoon everyone
-
Okore is struggling today.
-
Poor decision making from Okore again
-
Okore looks shite
-
Still think somehow there's a point here for us. Arsenal will become complacent from how easy it is and someone for Villa will find their balls and do something great.
-
Has Sanchez been on the pop?
-
What's this winger thing we're trying out?
-
Too many loose passes
-
Arsenal's munchkins seem to be coming out on top in the physical battles. That's not good.
-
This isn't the worst I've seen us but we could easily be 2-0.
-
Even still, we don't look as bad as Hull did yesterday
-
We are like sitting ducks here
-
Jesus we are being dicked.
-
Our tactic should just be to get it to Gil, he's quality.
-
What a breath of fresh air Gil is.....
-
how many mins would it take to beat arsenal with our goal scoring record?
-
Apart from Gil we seem to have no idea what to do once we reach the final third.
-
I think Sanchez has been a bit hot and cold but he always seems to start off our attacks. Becoming really important to us I think.
-
Lambert better get Sinclair on. Lindi St Clair. She will whip em into shape. and have Arsenal tied up in knots!
-
People moan at Benteke, but we're so slow to getting the ball to him it's painful.
-
Arsenal are playing this at testimonial pace. If they were any more comfortable they'd be in dressing gowns.
-
Looked a bit better then nearly went and conceded a second. Cleverley looks lost in that more advanced role whereas Gil is getting on the ball a bit. The number of basic errors we are making is inexcusable though.
-
I do like Sanchez but he's been dreadful today. Benteke looks like he don't want to know
-
It's dreadful to watch. Hutton and Sanchez have repeatedly given the ball away. Cleverly has done nothing. Again.
I'm struggling to see what Delph does. He's another passenger.
-
Luckky again. First saved by post, now by erroneous off-side decision
-
I just can't fathom how we never look like creating anything, ever.
I know it's Arsenal but we're like this against almost everyone, regardless of division.
-
I've been watching for 10 mins a and have seen Arse hit the post and have one disallowed. Has it all been like that?
-
Midfield isolated and overrun and three players up front with no supply and isolated. We can see it, why can't the boss? Oh yeh, cos we are excellent.
-
It's dreadful to watch. Hutton and Sanchez have repeatedly given the ball away. Cleverly has done nothing. Again.
I'm struggling to see what Delph does. He's another passenger.
That Benteke's shit and all.
-
I've been watching for 10 mins a and have seen Arse hit the post and have one disallowed. Has it all been like that?
Not entirely. We've had a fair amount of the ball but we have no idea what do with it.
-
Benteke could be doing more for me. It's always easy for their defenders and goalkeeper.
-
See that cross to Benteke from Cleverley, it's an easy thing to do...and we can't do it. Do they train with footballs?
-
Arsenal are moving the ball too quickly for Villa to deal with, we look ponderous in comparison.
-
It's dreadful to watch. Hutton and Sanchez have repeatedly given the ball away. Cleverly has done nothing. Again.
Hugely overrated player, the new NRC without the tackling ability.
I'm struggling to see what Delph does. He's another passenger.
-
Lambert does something do midfielders.
Westwood that was once a creative promising player, is now a dull-witted, predictive, sideways/backwards speedbump.
Sanchez seems puzzled, after he had a good game its like he been chewed out for his performance and looks like he is trying to learn how to play in the next one....and hating every minute.
Wonder how long it takes him to ruin Gil....
-
Cleverly....does he ever hold onto the ball? Every time he receives it, he looks to get rid of it immediately. It's really unhelpful
-
They all seem so unfit.
It would be interesting to know how much fitness training they all put in, because to me...it seems not much.
-
That's a fucking wondrous turn from Gil.
-
That's better, what a turn from Gil
-
I'm starting to think we'll never score another league goal again.
-
That was better
-
That was a bit better.
-
aimless hoof aimless hoof aimless hoof
-
Its all about Heel.
-
ARRRGGGHHH. Stop looping it diagonally into their box to nobody! Infuriating.
-
Benteke you need to add some fucking energy and urgency to your game.
-
This must be hard for Alan Smith. Villa fan , arsenal legend .
-
We have a mid table prem squad and a non league quality manager. Simple
-
Benteke didnt try then
-
This is giving me a pain in the chest. Could be the first time a lack of excitement has caused a heart attack.
-
We'll score at some point in February. Maybe.
-
Benteke is turning into Dalian.
-
Its all about Heel.
Got to get him in a more central role as he looks the only one remotely capable of causing them problems.
-
Those times when we hit it long we miss Gabby I think. Arsenal just look so much more confident when going forwards. We seem to want to slow things down and bring others into it much more.
-
Cleverley just runs round looking for the ball like an 8 year old in a school playground. Hopeless lack of ability.
-
They all seem so unfit.
It would be interesting to know how much fitness training they all put in, because to me...it seems not much.
I watched Richardson struggling to get back and thought the same thing.
-
Its all about Heel.

Exactly. Give him a freer role not ask him to play as a winger
-

Yet another training session under this inept bloke

Richardson has been poor.

Benteke is turning into Dalian.
Atkinson was like James Milner compared to Benteke at the moment.
-
If I was Benteke I wouldn't run either. Never gets the ball....what's the point with that shit behind him.
-
We have a mid table prem squad and a non league quality manager. Simple
Fixed.
-
he has our full support we wont be bullied by fans baying for blood
-
Will we ever score again ?
-
Those times when we hit it long we miss Gabby I think. Arsenal just look so much more confident when going forwards. We seem to want to slow things down and bring others into it much more.
We miss Gabby of years ago.
Not the current model.
If we actually had a proper coaching team it might not look so fucking shambolic.
-
can you imagine what would happen if we get a red card early in this game?
-
If I was Benteke I wouldn't run either. Never gets the ball....what's the point with that shit behind him.
He doesn't get the ball, because he's a fucking statue.
-
I think you're all being a bit harsh. We're only losing 1-0 to Arsenal.
-
henry cheating runt
-
Never mind score, will we ever have another shot?

Uncle Bob in the stands there.

I now have sound and vision....exciting stuff . Might go back to the jokes of Peter Withe if things dont improve.
-
I think you're all being a bit harsh. We're only losing 1-0 to Arsenal.
You're right, Tom. Rejoice!
-
we need a manager who can coach

-
If I was Benteke I wouldn't run either. Never gets the ball....what's the point with that shit behind him.
He doesn't get the ball, because he's a fucking statue.
Yea, and he's a statue because he's given up. And I would too because we don't create...ever.
-
Should have scored!
-
I love watching Sanchez and Gil play. Both have such quality in their respective areas of the game.
Fucking Andi shoulda scored!
-
Benteke seems to have decided that he has made it, so any form of hard work is no longer required.
-
Good tackle Rico
-
Great from Richardson in defence.
-
Great ball by Gil, but should have scored. Then totally switched off and saved by Richardson.
-
Yea, and he's a statue because he's given up. And I would too because we don't create...ever.
At his best he didn't need service because he created his own chances out of nothing. But that's all stopped.
-
can you imagine what would happen if we get a red card early in this game?
Eh?
-
wheres peter withe when you need him
-
After the save, how was that not a corner?
-
rubbish
-
They all seem so unfit.
It would be interesting to know how much fitness training they all put in, because to me...it seems not much.
I watched Richardson struggling to get back and thought the same thing.
And this against a team of chain smokers by all accounts!
-
Wouldn't mind seeing Sinclair on for Clevs, and play with three behind Benteke.
-
can you imagine what would happen if we get a red card early in this game?
Eh?
earlyish!
-
Nine and a half hours without scoring a league goal
We'll score again, don't know where, don't know when.......
-
I actually sort of admire our attempt to keep possession, we're not too bad at it. It's just that we do not create anything! So what's the point?!
-
Benteke seems to have decided that he has made it, so any form of hard work is no longer required.
Well if he wants out of the club he would be better off showing some effort. No effort or running off the ball whatsoever
-
Nine and a half hours without scoring a league goal
We'll score again, don't know where, don't know when.......
Could be MK Dons in August if we don't pull our fookin fingers out.
-
Danny mills as co commentator is having a right pop at villa
-
How the f was Coquelin not booked then
-
Coq should have been booked by now for persistent fouling.
-
We just seem to have accepted were going to lose and are just going through the motions . It's just not good enough
-
Rubbish.
-
That Weimann miss has already qualified for the performance being 'excellent' in the after match summation.
-
Rubbish
-
i might go and watch Benidorm
-
Danny mills as co commentator is having a right pop at villa
Good. The media have given us an easy ride for far too long
-
So so boring, zzzzz..
-
Depressing garbage.
-
Ospina's quality. No more swining corners in the 6yd area from now on I don't think.
-
That Weimann miss has already qualified for the performance being 'excellent' in the after match summation.
Sadly true.
-
Danny mills as co commentator is having a right pop at villa
So was Dixon. Saying if you're missing chances then at least you have something to work with. But if you're not even creating any then you have to change your style of play. Which, mystifyingly, Lambert steadfastly refuses to do.
-
wheres peter withe when you need him
Commentating for the BBC
-
Well I'm relieved we're not losing by more, but I'd be tempted to bring Sinclair for Benteke and play Weimann through the centre. Need a lot more energy in second half.
-
We looked okay in patches, I dread to think what we'd look like without Gil.
-
Nine and a half hours without scoring a league goal
We'll score again, don't know where, don't know when.......
Could be MK Dons in August if we don't pull our fookin fingers out.
Nah, MK Dons are too organised for us to score against.
-
i might go and watch Benidorm
Who are they playing?
-
BBC more knowledgeable about Villa than I gave them credit for:
"Aston Villa are getting dominated in midfield. How they must pine for the days of Ian Taylor and Gordon Cowans? Paul McGrath would be quite useful to have at the back too. It's all too easy for Arsenal at the moment as another one-pass-too-many move ends with Theo Walcott being flagged offside."
-
Awful, largely. Lambert. Needs to, but will never, GO.
We need a rocket up our backsides, Sanchez needs to learn how to pass. Fair play to Gil for trying different things. Needs to play more central though. Credit to Weimann too, he's worked hard and was unlucky with his header. We've kept it at 1-0, that's the achievement
-
The club will consider a narrow defeat here a good and fair result. That's the really depressing thing.
-
Learners new business model:
1) Find cheap young unknown defenders and sign them.
2) Tell manager to banish offensive play to train the defenders for 90 mins / game.
3) Sell defenders for a huge profit when relegated.
4) Write of tax profit from sales against club devaluation .
5 ) Donate ruined club to charity for another tax cut.
-
For all of the stick Cleverley gets, Sanchez has just turned in one of the worst 45 minutes that I've ever seen from a Villa midfielder. Slow, static and seemingly seeing an invisible player on the right-wing every 5 minutes or so. Needs to come-off for Westwood in the 2nd half.
-
We looked okay in patches, I dread to think what we'd look like without Gil.
And that's the thing already we are becoming almost solely reliant on him. Teams might start to double up on him soon then what do we do.
-
We looked okay in patches, I dread to think what we'd look like without Gil.
Looking better towards the end of the half, but not enough chances created again. We need a couple more Gils
-
Sanchez did have a terrible half.
-
I love watching Sanchez and Gil play. Both have such quality in their respective areas of the game.
Fucking Andi shoulda scored!
Sanchez is having a nightmare today. Hopefully he will improve after the break or I'd consider replacing him with Westwood.
Thank goodness for that whistle. Only positives are that Gil has looked decent against good opposition and it is only 1-0.
Get Sinclair on for Cleverley.
-
Danny mills as co commentator is having a right pop at villa
So was Dixon. Saying if you're missing chances then at least you have something to work with. But if you're not even creating any then you have to change your style of play. Which, mystifyingly, Lambert steadfastly refuses to do.
But we have. Lambert has been telling us for months he has us playing in a different way.
Problem is, it's producing the same fucking results.
-
I can't blame Lerner for our style of play.
-
I don't ever remembering seeing a player give the ball away so much in 45mins as Sanchez. Must be 5/6 times, he needs to sort it out.
This has got an air of inevitability about it. Lambert after another 1st, never before have we gone 6 games without scoring. 45minutes pal, what u gonna do?
-
Sanchez off for Westwood right now!
-
According to the stats we had 53% possession first half! I must have dozed off and missed something
-
So yet another half comes and goes without us scoring again ,has any manager/coach in our history ever gone so long without a goal,i certainly can not remember it this bad .
-
I think we did have loads of the ball. A lot of it seemed to be in the Arsenal half too. We just did zilch with it. As ever.
-
But we have. Lambert has been telling us for months he has us playing in a different way.
Problem is, it's producing the same fucking results.
Exactly. Changing the way you go about creating nothing isn't really a change in any meaningful sense.
-
So yet another half comes and goes without us scoring again ,has any manager/coach in our history ever gone so long without a goal,i certainly can not remember it this bad .
I think I read earlier in the week that we've never gone six full league games without scoring (and today would be the sixth).
-
Same as most of the season so not sure why people seem so shocked. Arsenal are a good team, massive signings, they're on a different planet in terms of a football club.
So only 1 nil, still in it....never know....next goal is key. I think we will get 1
-
For all of the stick Cleverley gets, Sanchez has just turned in one of the worst 45 minutes that I've ever seen from a Villa midfielder. Slow, static and seemingly seeing an invisible player on the right-wing every 5 minutes or so. Needs to come-off for Westwood in the 2nd half.
At least Sanchez looks for the ball. Cleverley is invisible, he needs to come off and Westwood on
-
Has Benteke got no professional pride. There's a big difference between getting no service and not giving a fuck.
-
Arsenal have spent a fortune on bringing in and developing incisive players to play in a very defined system. We look lost trying to play that way. For them it comes very naturally. Unless you go out to complete disrupt them (AKA The Pulis Theory) then you run the risk of not being able to compete. We at trying to pass it about and have been below average at that and in many cases our control has been very poor. It's giving them so much space to counter. We simply must not give them the ball in dangerous places because this could end up 2 or 3-0.
-

I pine for the days of Mark Kinsella
-
BBC also just posted that Benteke has had just 11 touches and just one was in the box - on the 18 yard line. Pretty un-talismanic.
-

Give it a rest. Sanchez has been the worst by a clear mile.

Yep another record if we dont score today
-
BBC also just posted that Benteke has had just 11 touches and just one was in the box - on the 18 yard line. Pretty un-talismanic.
He's not playing on his own
-
Benteke needs to pull his fucking finger out.
-
The fact that we've gone nearly 6 league games without scoring suggests the problem isn't that we're playing Arsenal.
-
For all of the stick Cleverley gets, Sanchez has just turned in one of the worst 45 minutes that I've ever seen from a Villa midfielder. Slow, static and seemingly seeing an invisible player on the right-wing every 5 minutes or so. Needs to come-off for Westwood in the 2nd half.

Not for me. I don't know what he was thinking about with those two balls to no one on the right but Sanchez is the only one keeping the ball moving and linking things. Take him out and I think we'd look a lot more open.
-
There's no disgrace in not scoring against arsenal, that's not the issue. The problem is that this game was preceded by five other league games in all of which we failed to score.
I prefer us trying to pass the ball rather than aimless hoofing but two things bother me. One is that this switch had started to be used, by Lambert and others, as an excuse - "it's a new system" etc etc
The other concern is, passing the ball and trying to keep it is great but what the fuck has Lambert spent the last 2.5 years trying to do?
-
I have no idea what you lot are watching but I thought we were okay that half, bar a couple of defensive mistakes and Sanchez passing. More posession than Arse on their own turf is bloody good progress if you ask me
-

Exactly. They play in completely different positions. In Sanchez's role in front of the back 4 it's absolutely vital that he helps the team keep possession when we have it. Some of the balls he's given away have been without being under any pressure at all and it's killing us. Cleverley has been pretty anonymous as usual, but let's not let that distract from Sanchez's performance just because of who he is.
-
Benteke needs to pull his fucking finger out.
Randy needs to pull his finger out and sack this fool of a manager then sell up and move on.
-
Got to stop giving the ball away so easily. It undoes any work anyone ever does on a training pitch. We are the absolute experts at giving it away cheaply.
-
There's no pressure on Benteke to do anything, because he's never going to lose his place. There's no pressure on the manager to get him firing again, because he'll never lose his job. It's a recipe for crap.
-
I have no idea what you lot are watching but I thought we were okay that half, bar a couple of defensive mistakes and Sanchez passing. More posession than Arse on their own turf is bloody good progress if you ask me
You are Paul Lambert and I claim my £5.
-

Of course Cleverley doesn't give the ball away, he tries very hard at hiding himself so he can't make mistakes he needs sending back to ManUre. He contributes nothing
-
Sky getting big boners over tomorrow....Zzzz Zzzz
-
This needs to be a lot better second half, a hell of a lot better.
-
Danny mills as co commentator is having a right pop at villa
I hope nobody gives a toss what that massive thunderc*nt has to say.
-
I have to say, Gil was great for me, probably the best thing about us. The turn midway through the half was the sort of thing no one would even attempt at Villa! Credit where it's due to Lambert for bringing him in. Come on Villa.
-
I'm not sure what more Benteke should be doing. Supposing he does run around and chase lost causes and "make an effort" to get onto on of our hopeless crosses/hoofs. And then in the 90th he has a throughball to latch onto and jas got no puff left.
-
YEEEEEEEEEESSSSS!!!!!!
A shot.
-
It's not this game he needs sacking for, I can live with being beaten by a decent Arsenal side, it's the rest of what he has achieved in his time at the club.
-
I have no idea what you lot are watching but I thought we were okay that half, bar a couple of defensive mistakes and Sanchez passing. More posession than Arse on their own turf is bloody good progress if you ask me
You are Paul Lambert and I claim my £5.
Yep, I'm really, really pleased with our possession stats. How many points does it win us?
-
Fucking hell Benteke.
-
FUCK, nearly done it
-
As others have said not scoring against Arse oisn't the whole issue - it's not scoring against the likes of Leicester, Palace, Sunderland and Swansea that will cost us eventually
-
So yet another half comes and goes without us scoring again ,has any manager/coach in our history ever gone so long without a goal,i certainly can not remember it this bad .
I think I read earlier in the week that we've never gone six full league games without scoring (and today would be the sixth).
What about earlier this season?
-
I actually thought we looked ok first half but arsenal were just sitting back and should really be 2 nil.
Nothing from Richardson going forwards but gil looks promising
-
There's a prize from the FA if anyone can work out why the lino flagged then.
-
i might go and watch Benidorm
Who are they playing?
the old hag in the mobility scooter might be better than cleverley
-
Better 2 and half minutes than the whole first half
-
John Carews Instagram....its just full of gash.
-
Come on Villa. Good spell.
-
Fucking come on Villa.
-
This is slightly more promising this half.
-
Huge lack of confidence, not surprising really, doesn't attack it with the conviction he did in the past
-
The fact that we've gone nearly 6 league games without scoring suggests the problem isn't that we're playing Arsenal.
its not the only time we have gone ages without scoring neither
-
Sanchez taking a leaf from the Gerrard book of useless hollywood passes.
-
Could Gab and Sinclair get something from Arsenals high line?
-
The fact that we've gone nearly 6 league games without scoring suggests the problem isn't that we're playing Arsenal.
its not the only time we have gone ages without scoring neither
Commentator just said we've never gone 6 league games without scoring in our entire history
-
It certainly looks better this half, in the same way that Hattie Jacques would be an improvement on Bella Emberg.
-
were brought arse down our level
-
Bloody hell Carlos....simple man
-
Carlos is like the Tonev of passes
-
Bought a Thermos recently. Filled it with tea this morning, had a sip just now, and scalded my tongue. That's some pretty impressive heat retention there.
*stares wistfully into the distance*
-
In another season you would have probably said we have done ok today. But I think we are all so weary of the last 2.5 years we've just had enough generally, even when we play ok
-
Sanchez is having a stinker
-
Done.
-
there you go
-
Game over
-
Game over!!
-
Too easy
-
And now I can fuck off and have my dinner.
-
Too easy.
-
Guzan should have saved that.
-
Suicide.
-
Dear oh dear
-
That was fucking Richardson's fault. Fuck sake.
-
Very similar to the first goal
-
Ah shit
-
Lambert's playing hangman.
-
well done richardson
-
So, so easy for their second goal.
Richardson really is poor
-
Terrible from Aston Villa, what a surprise.
-
Awful from Richardson there.
-
See you next time for more fun.
-
All over. Still as toothless as ever.
-
shitshitshit
-
Fucking idiots. Richardson dispossessed himself to start that counter!
-
Absolute shite. What was Richardson doing and where was Hutton?
-
Well done Richardson you waste of fuckin space, what the fuck was that?! This Villa team is bloody useless.
-
Ozil has a nice afternoon stroll and finishes it off with a goal.
-
How is that a yellow when Clark got the ball?!
-
Not even a foul let alone a yellow
-
Good mans tackle
-
Lambert doing Sudoku again.....
-
Well the game's gone but it would be nice to score one consolation goal just to make us less of a laughing stock.
-
How is that a yellow when Clark got the ball?!
nice laugh from the ref too
-
The only team to let Özil score against them this season.
-
hate fucking fanny arse girly footballers
-
We're a fucking shambles.
-
Ironically, this is one of those few games in a season when it's ok to sit back and defend in a tight unit and break with direct balls and pace. About one of the four or five games where pacey yet technically limited players can actually look dangerous, running into space against the metaphorical oil tanker that is Per Mertesacker. So what does Lambert do? He drops Gabby and tries to play possession football. *Facepalm*.
Even a stopped clock is right twice a day, but Lambert is somehow tactically shit ALL THE TIME.
-
Both full backs caught miles up the pitch for the goal. Has happened Hutton far too much recently
-
So many individual errors today.
-
The only team to let Özil score against them this season.
should have put money on bug eyes
-
Lambert doing Sudoku again.....
Could be his resignation letter.
-
Going to do anything Lambert?
-
When will this nightmare be over? What have we done to deserve this Randy?
-
''i thought we were excellent up and till there second goal. They give me everything today, I can't fault that''.
-
I've started laughing at Sanchez passing now
-
only 2 nil down after an hour! Lambert will be thinking we are excellent!
-
I think I'd put Weimann in the middle, take Benteke off for Sinclaire and have him out wide. Allow Gil to roam.
-
HA HA, and again...
-
Sanchez off and anyone on please Lambert. Even Given in MF.
-
Fucking idiots. Richardson dispossessed himself to start that counter!
He is generally so shit that I wonder whether he is still on Albion's payroll (I think the fastest I have seen him move was to get himself sent off against them), but on this occasion he turned to play the ball to the wing, and the ref stood directly in the way of that pass, he was dispossessed in the moments hesitation that followed.
-
cheering for gabby oh dear were gone so shit
-
Dont worry, Gabby will be on soon
-
Fucking Dire
No tactics , no clue.
The commentators here taking the piss out of Lambert.
Fox, flip the fucking coin, this mumbling twat is taking us on an express train to the championship.
-
Sanchez is doing it on purpose now
-
We had a shot, we ARE excellent!
-
Time to hook Sanchez.
-
Time to hook Sanchez.
He's been very poor today
-
Absolute shite. What was Richardson doing and where was Hutton?
Hutton had just got back in our half when the ball hit the net!!
-
Sanchez is total wank today. Get him off ffs.
-
HA HA HA HA, he's doing it every time .....
-
Sanchez needs to get pulled. He's been atrocious today
-
Sanchez for Westwood please, his passing has been horrendous.
-
Remember all those times when Lambert subbed Sanchez despite him playing well?
I bet he plays 90 minutes today.
-
Le tissier said delph our best player and people excited about his contract. What does he actually do, really?
-
Our survival rests on the hull game.going to be unbearable
-
Let's pretend we have scored a goal
-
Absolute shite. What was Richardson doing and where was Hutton?
Hutton had just got back in our half when the ball hit the net!!
Can't blame Hutton for the goal.
-
Why shoot from there Delph
-
Im a fan of Sanchez but his passing has been dire today.
-
Easy!
-
Taking the piss now
-
Every time Sanchez gets the ball I duck.
-
Le tissier said delph our best player and people excited about his contract. What does he actually do, really?
Commentates on the football and probably a few after dinner events and a bit of golf.
Oh cock.
-
my mate texted me and said no wonder your team is boring , did you see lamberts interview zzzzz
3 0
-
Boom
-
Just too good from them. Easy for them. 3-0.
-
Three f in goals from nothing
-
******.
-
Just fuck off Lambert. PLEASE!!!
-
Get rid of that thickie - NOW!
-
Arsenal look like us on the break....quite a long time ago
-
Could get embarrassing now
-
False narratives.
We are actually 3-0 up
-
Pathetic. Lambert did nothing, and we concede again. And again.
Fuck off you useless ******.
-
This is a shambles. Fuck them all
-
looking on the bright side, this could be our best chance to score a goal - they wont give a shit about 1
-
The next time I hear someone offer our possession percentage as a sign that we're half decent I'll go postal.
-
Sanchez is turning into Sylla!
-
Sanchez needs to get pulled. He's been atrocious today
maybe cleverley can actual do something for him in the shower
-
Arsenal are playing like Villa did in the days of Young and Downing. Great counter-attacking football
-
Arsenal pass "forward" with "accuracy"...and that's how simple the game is
-
Well done on making a change when we were still in with a chance Lambert you plum.
-
Absolute shite. What was Richardson doing and where was Hutton?
Hutton had just got back in our half when the ball hit the net!!
Can't blame Hutton for the goal.
Not really but should have been making more effort to get back
-
Some fucking mafia Bookmaker must have half the team in his pocket!
Its not possible to be this impotent at this level unless its on purpose!
-
That was quality from Walcott. Touch completely did for Hutton.
-
The team does not know what it's supposed to be doing. No organisation whatsoever.
-
Surely it must be all over for the clown?
-
See, we take 30 odd slow passes to go nowhere, they take 3 or 4 quick ones and are in on goal.
But, we are keeping our possession stats up, so all's well.
-
The cavalry arrives
-
This is beyond acceptable. This group of players can do better. PL out.
-
Here comes ZX81
-
So clearly needed subs after Arsenal's second. Gabby & Sinclair for Cleverley & Andi now.
-
Shambles. Arsenal at half pace strolling through us.
-
too late
-
Gabby for Weimann, no change there then we still have nine players. Benteke doesn't look like he wants to play!
-
Gabby looks like the pilsbury doughboy.
-
why oh why did Everton fail to beat us to Cleverley
-
''i thought we were excellent up and till there second goal. They give me everything today, I can't fault that''.
''i thought we were excellent up until there second third goal. They give me everything today, I can't fault that''
-
I'd say Richardson, Sanchez and Benteke have today put in three of the worst individual performances I've ever seen from a Villa player.
-
I want to keep saying Lambert Out but it just seems so futile now.
I'm sure we were excellent anyway.
-
Those subs set up a morale destroying 0-8 defeat.
-
I feel sorry for Gil. And well timed with those subs.
-
We can't really get more attacking then that....lets see if we can just get one
-
dicking on us now
-
Arsenal are a good side, but it'd be nice to see some signs of improvement from us.
There aren't any though.
This is gash. Again.
-
How the fuck is Sanchez still on the pitch?
-
I've tuned in to Talksport to hear Stanley talk about the frustrations of being an Arsenal supporter.
And to hear their second goal. And third.
We're just fodder. Aston Fodder
-
Absolutely diabolical, fuck off Lambert.
-
imagine if their sanchez was playing
-
imagine if their sanchez was playing
It's bad enough seeing ours play.
-
The team does not know what it's supposed to be doing. No organisation whatsoever.
Correct!!
-
What is this now? 4231 with Sanchez, Delph-Gil, Gabby, Clive ?
-
11 goals in 23 games. That's scarcely believable.
-
arse hit bar
-
come on villa lets make the ten hour mark no goal
-
Sanchez has been embarrassing.
I'm glad Cleverley got booed as he went off. Talentless waste of air. I preferred Ireland.
Oh Villa, what is/has happening/happened to you?
Miserable viewing once again.
Can't begin to fathom what Richardson was doing when Arsenal scored their second. What a joke of a player.
I'm off to bed, can't stand any more of this crap. Good night all.
-
Sacking him would be like tossing a coin eh?
-
the co commentator has only just noticed
VILLA ARE IN BIG TROUBLE
-
According to Tom Fox we are all excited about the direction the club is headed in.
-
What is this now? 4231 with Sanchez, Delph-Gil, Gabby, Clive ?
We would do better playing kick and rush.
-
What is this now? 4231 with Sanchez, Delph-Gil, Gabby, Clive ?
Fuck knows. The players clearly don't.
-
Villa as usual come along just at the right time if your a player who needs a goal By all accounts that was the the first league goal Ozil has scored since the one he got at Villa Park .Both the goals he has scored this season surprise surprise are against us
-
Surely if we've given them Sanchez then Arsenal should give us one of their players.
-
According to Tom Fox we are all excited about the direction the club is headed in.
Yep. Ipswich, Birmingham, Leeds, sheff weds etc etc
-
Chuba Akpom , sounds like something you buy to cure piles!
-
Ugh.
-
If sacking the deluded one is like tossing a coin, then TOSS THE FUCKING COIN!!
-
Time to flip the coin I think.
-
This is the year we go down.
You just can't fail to score for so long and stay up.
-
I'm excited about our new narrative...
-
can we have mcleish back please
-
Is this another Lambert record?
-
We're actually getting bullied by Arsenal. I wonder how many teams that's ever happened to. They've won almost every aerial battle and 50-50 challenge all over the pitch.
-
How much time!!!!!#???????/??//
-
Good run by Spectrum
-
I will piss my arse hole off if he plays the same team against Chelsea
-
Nice break from Trev there.
-
If only the ball would just fly into the Arsenal net by complete fluke, we could go again after the Chelsea match.
-
To think we took 3 points here last season and against Chelsea and man city at home. And we still only finished on 38 points. No idea how we are going to take 16 points from 15 games and it probably won't be enough this year. Grim times
-
I will piss my arse hole off if he plays the same team against Chelsea
He will
-
Can it get any worse?
-
i was gonna say they will get a pen
-
Sinclair pass intercepted. He'll do well in this side.not, and now a pen.
-
Good grief.
-
Fuck sake.
-
This could get very messy.
Bollocks a penalty now.
-
This is in fact the nightmare match that you pray never to see again.
-
To be fair both Gabby and Sinclair have put in cracking runs so far. Shouldn't have taken off Weimann, Gil is completely out of gas and Sanchez wants the ground to open up and swallow him.
Abysmal goalkeeping from Guzan as I type . Penalty. 4-0
-
Oh dear Brad
-
bye bye lambert lambert bye bye
-
You have to laugh
-
What the fuck was that Brad?
-
Four. Just blow the whistle and give me them the points now. Please.
-
What a spineless pathetic bunch.
-
bye bye lambert lambert bye bye
If only
-
That's just our sodding luck. Saved but squirmed in. Unlucky Guz.
-
I'd say this would shatter our confidence if it wasn't already at rock bottom.
-
No one at the club should be paid, from top to bottom
-
Guzan O.G?
-
Im off. Could be 6
-
Goal difference taking a shoeing as well now.
-
Guzan basically throws it in the net, hoping it means Lambo gets sacked.
-
Still 15 to go. *buries head in hands*
-
So now, 4-0 down, he takes Sanchez off
-
We have 2 points for every goal....
Lamberts plan is to score 18 total over a season to end up on 36 and survive. Its Excellent!
-
Yay, Sanchez off.
-
can we have mcleish back please
Worth a try. I suppose it is worth giving any big bloke who can head a ball a go up front however old he is now. How old is Ron Saunders now? He knew where the goal was in his playing days.
-
You have to laugh, shit penalty kick, shit attempt to save, and Brad kicks the post. I'm back in the Warley Sunday League.
-
Shocking from Guzan. Shouldn't have given away the pen and, when he had, should have saved it.
And now he replaces Sanchez. 30 minutes after it was the most obvious decision in the world.
-
And now he takes Sanchez off. You. Cannot. Make. This. Up.
-
Four. Just blow the whistle and give me them the points now. Please.
I think they could have done that before the kick off.
-
Feel for the away fans
-
Anyone still supporting Lambert and Lerner?
-
bye bye lambert lambert bye bye
If sacking Lambert is like tossing a coin, we'd probably use a double headed coin and then call tails.
-
Finally someones told him sanchez is having a poor game.
-
We've been excellent.... Their third was against the run of play... We go again.....
-
bye bye lambert lambert bye bye
If only
;(
-
Joint worst goal difference now. Wonder if that will come into play come the end of the season.
-
There's not necessarily the greatest shame in losing at Arsenal, who are pretty good. There is, however, plenty o' shame in going 10 hours without a goal. We're like footballing Buddhist monks, who think that scoring goals is some huge indulgence.
-
''i thought we were excellent up and till there second goal. They give me everything today, I can't fault that''.
''i thought we were excellent up until there second third goal. They give me everything today, I can't fault that''
''i thought we were excellent up until there second third fourth goal. They give me everything today, I can't fault that''
-
We're sh...ocking.
-
So now, 4-0 down, he takes Sanchez off
unbelievable
-
Odds on 6?
-
We're getting smashed, the worse it is, the more likely Lambo goes. I hope.
-
Anyone still supporting Lambert and Lerner?
Lerner still gets less of my anger than Lambert does.
-
Unbelievably poor
-
Joint worst goal difference now. Wonder if that will come into play come the end of the season.
'Goals for' certainly won't.
-
Joint worst goal difference now. Wonder if that will come into play come the end of the season.
Nah we will be down before then.
-
to be fair our expectations are too high!......
-
Chelsea will nosh us off big time
-
Worst GD in prem now. Looking ominous
-
Only seen the second half. Sanchez has been abysmal. Also too many long ball wallops. Glad I missed most of it now. 60 mins of my life wasted that I'd never get back.
-
The better our team looks on paper the worse we are. It's unbelievable we are actually getter worse ax the season goes on.
-
commentators taking the piss
-
''i thought we were excellent up and till there second goal. They give me everything today, I can't fault that''.
''i thought we were excellent up until there second third goal. They give me everything today, I can't fault that''
''i thought we were excellent up until there second third fourth goal. They give me everything today, I can't fault that''
Great!
-
According to Tom Fox we are all excited about the direction the club is headed in.
For a club that was built on an artificial lake we are going down fast Mr Fox. Very fast. Appalling manager, players that are patently not trying,
and non exsistant organisation......and we have conceded again!
-
This is why I don't understand it when some of our supporters say they can't get worked up about how bad things are. We're just so shit it's soul destroying.
-
I'll have to review my 4-0 prediction. We really are so shit.
-
10 hours without a goal.
-
Goal difference will make no difference to us if this manager continues.
-
This is just fucking shameful now.
We are a shambles from top to bottom and from back to front.
The ONLY sensible decision the club can make is to get rid of the deluded one and get someone else in.
-
Lambert getting an absolute hammering on Talksport.
-
1 more and we have the worst goal difference in the league too.
Tom Fox might think there is a false narrative. There is not. We have a decent squad with a genuinely shit manager. It is not false, or any of the other things he can think of. It is total rotten shit.
-
For a club that was built on an artificial lake we are going down fast Mr Fox.
I'm starting to think we were built on an old Indian burial site.
-
Just fuck off lambert you turnip
-
Odds on 6?
It's a shame on Sinclair's debut, but I wouldn't be surprised if we C5.
-
After the Chelsea game the rest of February is massive for this club
-
i cant believe there are worse teams than Villa. thank mcgrath
-
can't we just have a word with the ref and take the 4 nil now!
-
If I see one photo of the players smiling and laughing during training on the OS this week I'm going to fucking lose it. I want to see photos of them learning how to keep possession from a fucking throw-in or closing down players advancing at speed towards their goal, not lining up to skip over 6 inch fucking hurdles whilst having a giggle with each other.
-
Odds on 6?
It's a shame on Sinclair's debut, but I wouldn't be surprised if we C5.
Boom!
-
We're circling the drain. And neither Lerner nor Lambert are showing much interest in locating the plug.
-
Ten hours no goal.
-
Chelsea to look forward to , we will be excellent against them!
-
the problem is the teams below us can score - they will score against us for one
-
i cant believe there are worse teams than Villa. thank mcgrath
Are there? I'm not so sure.
-
Can we make a giant banner for the Holte declaring FLIP THE COIN! ?
-
Every time I go on the official site they all look so bloody happy in training
-
Can't watch anymore.
-
We're circling the drain. And neither Lerner nor Lambert are showing much interest in locating the plug.
The ineptitude on show from the people "running" the club is fucking shocking.
-
This is why I don't understand it when some of our supporters say they can't get worked up about how bad things are. We're just so shit it's soul destroying.
I'm worked up Hilts.
I'm angry after watching this shite again, and listening to the absolute garbage coming out of the club.
Infact, I get more, and more fucking livid everyday
-
Sinclair's look lively to be fair. get another one like him for the other wing and we might improve.
-
Wenger couldn't have wished for more obliging opponents if he'd set our tactics himself. Exactly how they like it: high line, brainless pressing, no physicality...
-
Oh they're 'running' the club alright. Running it right into the ground.
-
Every time I go on the official site they all look so bloody happy in training
PR my friend, PR.
-
i cant believe there are worse teams than Villa. thank mcgrath
Are there? I'm not so sure.
i agree but they are there at the moment in the placing - i dont know how
-
Flip the coin m'lord! Flip the coin!!
-
Lambert seems to be closing in on yet another club record.
-
We're circling the drain. And neither Lerner nor Lambert are showing much interest in locating the plug.
The ineptitude on show from the people "running" the club is fucking shocking.
That there is a false narrative. It is not their fault that sitting on their hands and smiling while the team sinks is happening. Or Paul Lamberts for that matter. You watch, it will be our fault before you know it.
-
Wenger couldn't have wished for more obliging opponents if he'd set our tactics himself. Exactly how they like it: high line, brainless pressing, no physicality...
We play the same every week. Easiest team in the world to play
-
Inspirational spell of passing across the back four there.
-
Sinclair's look lively to be fair. get another one like him for the other wing and we might improve.
no we wont
lambert takes anything decent out of a player
-
It has to be said, considering their team are 4-0 up, the Emirates is fucking silent.
-
Looked of the movement, the diagonal runs, the touch....envy
-
Ten hours no goal.
Lambert loves setting records, doesn't he?
I fully expect him to pitch up at the post-match press conference with 605 marshmallows stuffed up his nose.
-
Something needs to change. Now, Mr Fox....or we are going down
-
It has to be said, considering their team are 4-0 up, the Emirates is fucking silent.
I think they're asleep.
-
i agree but they are there at the moment in the placing - i dont know how
First four games of the season. That's the sole reason. Without that we'd be well adrift.
-
Stan giving it loads on Talkshite
-
Ten hours no goal.
Lambert loves setting records, doesn't he?
I fully expect him to pitch up at the post-match press conference with 605 marshmallows stuffed up his nose.
Thanks for making me laugh!
-
I'm sure if we let in ten today Lambert would still be in charge next game.
-
Stan giving it loads on Talkshite
What's he saying?
-
I wonder if Lambert will reckon we were excellent or outstanding today?
-
i agree but they are there at the moment in the placing - i dont know how
First four games of the season. That's the sole reason. Without that we'd be well adrift.
true but you would think a team with 11 goals in 23 games would be bottom normally
-
Arsenal ambling around like it's some sort of open training day yet they still look way more capable of scoring than we do
-
It's all ok. We're winning the possession.
FRO.YYFSW.GTFOOMCN
-
Amazed its only four tbh
-
The bookies have 4 teams worse than us for relegation.
-
It has to be said, considering their team are 4-0 up, the Emirates is fucking silent.
we have bored them to sleep
-
We're not even fcukin plucky anymore
-
Just when you think Lamberk can't make us look any worse he somehow manages it.
-
I wonder if Lambert will reckon we were excellent or outstanding today?
It'll be something like what McLeish said when he was in charge at the Sty and we battered the Noses 5-1, i.e. they're in a different league to us and we can't hope to compete.
-
Arsenal ambling around like it's some sort of open training day yet they still look way more capable of scoring than we do
Yep. 56 year old Thomas Rosicky is now running rings around our midfield.
-
Clark and Gil played decent - rest s**t. Delph has produced a new contract perfotmance.
-
thought that was 5
-
Stan giving it loads on Talkshite
What's he saying?
Its a disgrace. Gabby's a mate but he's been shit for years now. Etc etc
-
I would honestly drop Benteke and play Weimann in the centre next week. Lazy waste of space today.
-
I wonder if Lambert will reckon we were excellent or outstanding today?
The crowd need to spend 90 minutes chanting vociferously for his removal. For the sake of a couple of games, it is worth it, the message has to get through somehow.
-
Just when you think Lamberk can't make us look any worse he somehow manages it.
Now to be fair, that does require an exceptional talent.
-
I wonder if Lambert will reckon we were excellent or outstanding today?
It'll be something like what McLeish said when he was in charge at the Sty and we battered the Noses 5-1, i.e. they're in a different league to us and we can't hope to compete.
I bet you're right. And sadly, he will be, too.
-
It has to be said, considering their team are 4-0 up, the Emirates is fucking silent.
They are as bored as us but for different reasons
-
That coin needs flipping Tom. Flipping now preferably.
-
Stan giving it loads on Talkshite
What's he saying?
Its a disgrace. Gabby's a mate but he's been shit for years now. Etc etc
I'm glad someone's speaking up. Cheers Joecrow.
-
proud history Randy, proud history
-
Odds on 6?
It's a shame on Sinclair's debut, but I wouldn't be surprised if we C5.
Boom!
Absolutely top punning
-
Okore's been really poor today. Attacked the ball when he should have dropped-off and dropped-of when he's needed to step out. I realise it's all part of a learning curve, but we can't get Vlaar and Senderos fit and in the team quick enough for me.
-
true but you would think a team with 11 goals in 23 games would be bottom normally
12 points from 19 games is relegation form, no question. Regardless of what the rest are doing.
-
How long does it go on for?
-
We 0 Again.
-
I would honestly drop Benteke and play Weimann in the centre next week. Lazy waste of space today.
Agreed. He also doesn't seem too sharp. Seemed to want more time than he had on a few occasions today.
-
Odds on 6?
It's a shame on Sinclair's debut, but I wouldn't be surprised if we C5.
Boom!
Absolutely top punning
5 would be QL
-
Picture of Pires laughing there.
"You know what, this lot would make me look full of running"
-
Oh good. My stream just crashed - about 90 minutes too late
-
There is more chance of Prince Andrew being held to account than Lambert. And we've got a lot more than just allegations* when it comes to Lambert.
*Really pissed off with Villa but still with an eye on legalities.
-
I feel ashamed that I supported the appointment of Lambert and of how long I kept believing he was the right man for the job. Mind you Randy had me fooled too, must be the shittiest owner we have ever had.
-
The weird thing is Lambert can set us up to play fast attacking football. He choses not too. Utterly baffling.
-
Commentator taking the piss now: "Can Villa get a goal... the question we've been asking for weeks."
-
Benteke just ran. A real Kodak moment.
-
hutton just stand there why dont you
-
forget the transfer window - get Deadly Doug back in charge for one day - he would invite Lambert round his house for a cup of tea and the sack?
-
5 0
-
It's a fucking disgrace.
-
For fucks sake
-
Yeah, on paper we have decent, pacy attacking players. How can we only carve out half a shooting chance per game is bewildering.
-
another first goal for someone ffs lambert
-
Fuck.
-
That caps it off.
-
High 5!
-
0-5. Carlos Alberto.
-
Maybe a kicking is the kick up the arse Lerner needs to sack the c unt.
-
Five. Five nil. Just fuck off Lambert
-
Lambert out out out.
-
0-5. Carlos Alberto.
It was a bit, too.
-
Commentator taking the piss now: "Can Villa get a goal... the question we've been asking for weeks."
Some fans don't like it when we call ourselves a laughing stock, but let's face it, we are. 11 goals in 23 league games is humiliating for a club the size of Aston Villa.
-
couldnt even score then great shot
-
Shot on target WOW
-
We nearly scored! Civic reception time.
-
get him out of our club please
-
Its not just any Football club they killing here.
Its where the greatest game on earth was born!
-
Shameful. Top to bottom.
-
Truly shocked, I know we are crap but....
-
true but you would think a team with 11 goals in 23 games would be bottom normally
12 points from 19 games is relegation form, no question. Regardless of what the rest are doing.
Don't worry, we'll pick up points in the games at the likes of QPR, WBA and Leicester. Oh....hang on....
-
Its not just any Football club they killing here.
Its where the greatest game on earth was born!
You can thank Randy fuckin Lerner for our decline.
-
We are record breakers again this season!
Surely Lambert must also hold the record for number of times 4+ goals conceded in a match.
-
if chavski do the same next week with out a goal in reply it must be thank you and good night
-
Its not just any Football club they killing here.
Its where the greatest game on earth was born!
Sheffield!
-
Goal Difference of -19 now. I think it should be a bit like when a team scores 6 or 7 and they have to bracket the number in words just to clarify it, you know, like Arsenal 7 (seven)-Aston Villa 0. Every league table should display our goal-difference as -19 (minus nineteen).
-
Maybe a kicking is the kick up the arse Lerner needs to sack the c unt.
Unfortunately I wouldn't bet on it, would you?
-
true but you would think a team with 11 goals in 23 games would be bottom normally
12 points from 19 games is relegation form, no question. Regardless of what the rest are doing.
Don't worry, we'll pick up points in the games at the likes of QPR, WBA and Leicester. Oh....hang on....
when you havent got a away win yet
who will qpr play ?
-
presenter just said
do villa need to buy
no
the need to sack the ****
-
Its not just any Football club they killing here.
Its where the greatest game on earth was born!
You can thank Randy fuckin Lerner for our decline.
Well, I'm sorry saundersheroes, but he doesn't coach the players, who on paper, should be doing a hell of a lot better. He doesn't pick the team, or make substitutions. I just feel the blame is firmly at Lamberts door in this current situation.
As for the players, show some pride you useless bunch of ******.
-
C'mon, don't be so depressed. We pick out the pieces and go again. Like we always do, and will.
