A winger and perhaps another striker and this team would be going places. Well they certainly wouldn't be fighting against relegation anyway.
Get that wallet out, Randy!

I like this line.

A couple of nice comments here as well.

Get that North Stand rebuilt with the Villa trademark red brick, stained glass and mosaics and it will be perfection.

Some nice comments on the sacred ground from the Bournemouth fans.

As for signings, get another decent striker and a classy winger in and we will be flying .

He has, he's started to look like the player I always hoped he'd become. I really think Okore's pace next to him is massively important.

Agree, although Clark is no slouch either.
Apparently they're best buddies off the pitch, and it shows on the pitch, too.
Explains Clarks reaction to the Leicester thug who took out Okore!

It's been a really good balance recently, especially as one is right footed and the other left.  I've been a critic of his over the past few seasons, but it looks like it has clicked for Clark and he seems to have grown both in stature and confidence over the past few months.  I think having the defensively solid Cissokho next to him rather than a Bennett or Luna horror show has helped.

The match was refereed very well. I think the ref was Mike Dean and he had an excellent game?

There was one of our yellows that at the time I thought was a bit soft, Okore maybe?, but other than that he had an okay game. Made easier as there weren't really any tough decisions to make or any bad tackles.

There's a reason Mike Dean had a good game as you say, and that is that the two teams wanted to actually play football.  All he had to do was the basics.

During my career as a referee I've lost count of the matches where both teams went at it hammer and tongs in a fair minded manner, all they wanted to do was play football.  After the match they have said ' you had a great game ref'. To which I would always reply, 'not me lads, you did.  All I had to do was blow the whistle to start and end the game'. And that in essence is it.

I would suggest that the referee has had a good game when he's issued his cards in a correct manner without being frivolous with them, dealing with situations properly.  I've always believed that teams having a good game and a referee having a good game are two different things.

This was the first game I'd been to for quite a while because I haven't been able to afford to go. What a game to pick. We were in the Holte upper, for me the best stand on the planet, great songs, brilliant atmosphere, two class goals and Delph signing a new contract. I've missed it all so much.

Took my daughter and her boyfriend and it was a fabulous day out apart from the M6 exit at Junction 6 being closed. Should have got off at junction 7 I know.

Clark and Okore were fantastic but what the hell has happened to Benteke? He just looked like he couldn't be arsed. I'm hoping that he'll get more service now we have Gil.

Excellent stuff. A win and two (yes two) great goals.

Delph signing a new contract was a big and pleasant surprise. Villa can get things right occasionally.

I think our supporters were more certain we'd lose than the media were.

Quite. I was one of them! Bournemouth are a good side, and we were perhaps fortunate that they played a weakened side.

Don't forget we made six changes from the previous game too.
