I think the differences in current attitude from Benteke and Weimann is typified with the second goal. (check the BBC page for it). Andi has the ball on the left. He plays it into the centre and pops up running into the box on the right hand side to finish. In the meantime Benteke has barely moved 5 yards from the start of the move to the end. He should have been running at the goal in case Hutton played it across the 6 yard box.

Amazing how a goal can get the confidence back.  We looked more assured after Carles strike.

Eventually a professional performance to get through.

Special mention to Shay, who was tremendous.  Just a shame he knows he'll be dropped however well he plays.

Bentekes touch was really poor today and he won very little aerially . Looked under the weather perhaps ?

On about 65 minutes he seemed to just stop playing - he went out wide in their penalty area and just stopped, then bending over as if winded.
Had his couple of runs on the edge of the area and one good ball when we were well on top. Thought he was injured?

Yup Andi worked his ass off today. He started several moves and then sprinted to be on the end of them. Tremmendous work rate for 90 mins. Very happy for him.

Didn't go today, but went to a local pub to watch it in, which was nice. First half, we looked like we normally do lately, passing it round and not doing very much with it.

Second half was so so much better. At 2-0, it felt like a professional performance. Wonderful goal from Charlie Gil and a cracking finish for the second. Sanchez once again breezed through the midfield. He makes it look really easy at times. If i've one complaint though, we did look a bit iffy at the back whenever they broke. Luckily, other than their goal, we dealt with it ok.

A bit of a stalemate 1st half but they definitely looked better on the ball and better movement off it. Wish we could play as slick.
Much better second half, once the nerves were relieved by the early goal...which was brilliant! Best move of the game for our second -well taken Andi.
Thought Given had a really solid game considering he hasn't played for yonks.
Back four were solid but thought Okore and Clark were truly outstanding. Jores is a talented footballer but how much better does Clark look this season...both got us out of a few tight spots with apparent ease. Ron who?
Cleverley ok, not the best of games for Sanchez, but he's got it, Bacuna was poor except for the brilliant ball through to Hutton for the 2nd goal, Gil looks a genuine threat but I felt played too deep 1st half, Andi had one of his better games. Benteke was very poor and looks like he's got lead in his boots and he needs to put himself about a lot more. Defenders used to be afraid of him...their guys had him pretty comfortably tied up for most of the game.

Also went to the game and would agree with most of that.  I thought they did edge the first half and looked threatening, but didn't really create too much.  I thought we were far the better team after the break and had Westwood scored right at the end to make it 3-1, it would have been about the right result.

Clark and Okore were solid again, Cleverley picked up in the second half and Gil again showed some flashes of real quality.  His goal was really special and I'm struggling to think of a better one in recent seasons.  With the great news about Delph before the kick off, a good day all round. 

Special mention to the two, *ahem* 'larger' female Bournemouth fans in the lower Doug Ellis who seemed to attract a lot of attention during the game and made a less than graceful exit.

Really poor first half, really comfortable second.

We were so pedestrian first half that it's easy for any standard of opposition and we let Bournemoth dictate things. They created one or two chances and we looked as abject as ever.

Second half though I thought we bossed it. We moved the ball a lot quicker and Gil's finish was world class. He second goal was a good one too and I think that Andi played really well today as well. Disappointing to concede the late goal, but it made no difference and we are in the hat.

Was sat quite close to the pitch today, dawned on me Sanchez can't speak much English at all. Must be difficult for him until he picks up a bit of the lingo.

Well deserved win. From the moment I parked the car there was something about their suddenly mysteriously huge away following that was irrationally totally winding me up so I'm glad we put them to the sword. Screw you Bournemouth taking photos like tourists, singing your stupid 'Premier League you're having a laugh' song', swanning around outside like you owned the place. Sorry we ruined your day out by being better than you.

I got to my seat quite early, about 2:25 because my son wanted to watch the players warm up and there were 3 Bournemouth fans sat behind us in the Trinity.  Then I looked up and  virtually their whole following was already in the ground.  Now I'm not usually that bothered if a few away fans are in our end but their constant giggling and chuckling every time their fans sang a song or booed our players names being announced really started to piss me off.  Also one of them had to keep asking what they were singing because he'd probably never seen a crowd before. There were plenty of seats empty in the corner of their section they could have sat in and wet themselves to their hilarious supporters. Rant over.

Anyway thought Gil, Okore and Clark were very good. Second half Cleverley, Weimann and Bacuna played a lot better but Benteke needs coaching to start attacking the six yard box.  Even my 11 year old kept asking me why he wasn't putting any effort in.

I found them irritating as well. The small time twats will be nowhere to be seen at their next away game in Wigan and didn't manage to take a collective 1000 to their last two away games. They were very quit as soon as we scored. Time to put the face paint, curly wigs and foam hands away for he day trippers.

A couple of crosses in the first half went right across their six yard box along the ground and he was stood at the edge of the box.

However, I realised that I'm at a stag weekend on semi final weekend and the subsequent wedding is FA Cup final day. Spare a thought for me when "it's our year" becomes a reality
