Well deserved win. From the moment I parked the car there was something about their suddenly mysteriously huge away following that was irrationally totally winding me up so I'm glad we put them to the sword. Screw you Bournemouth taking photos like tourists, singing your stupid 'Premier League you're having a laugh' song', swanning around outside like you owned the place. Sorry we ruined your day out by being better than you.

I think with Gill up there as well it will give the opposition something else to worry about other than double/triple marking Benteke.

Weimann showed a bit more today but the usual Gabby/Andi/Benteke within 10 yards of each other makes it very difficult to create.

Benteke for me is frustrated at the lack of service. This does look like it could change now...

Benteke looked more half arsed than frustrated today. Maybe if he actually moved it may help. Wasn't impressed with him today I have to say.

First half we were terrible, second half (or after the first goal at least) we were pretty decent.

Okore and Clark were very good

Weimann and Cleverly were much better than usual

Benteke was awful, both in a 'lack of effort' and a 'poor decision making' kinda way.

I love Gil already, we've needed a little spanish magician for a while now.

First time since 1966 that I haven't had a season ticket or been collecting programme vouchers. Anybody got a spare ticket for the final ?

Seen the highlights online now.  Thought both goals were really good, but in different ways.  Would say that they edged the first half and we edged the second.   It was a close game, but we were the more clinical of the two so deserve to go through.  As long as we don't get Bradford in the semis this could be our year ::)

Oh yes that was a relief. I am particularly pleased as before the kickoff I stood next to a group of Bournemouth fans in an establishment close to the ground and they spent their time making fun of Villa team just announced. They were looking at their phones reading out the names and taking the piss  big time. One of them mispronounced Carles Gil several times whilst introducing rudest possible versions into it. I bet he will remember his name forever now!

Yep other than a couple of bits of quality he was awful. He needs to sort his workrate out.

Based on the highlights?

I'd say they were much the better side in the first half, and we were in the second half.

Also listened to the match on the radio.  Thought we started the first half well and it was quite an end to end game, but then we faded and they were really threatening.  Second half we took control, not only with the end product, but we also killed the game off nicely.

Interesting that they made 8 changes today, I wonder why?  I also wonder what their 6000 fans think of that?

Good to see two goals. Pity about the clean sheet. That said, I was expecting us to get a spanking due to the "Magic of the CupTM" so it is a good afternoon all round.

Anyway, every time I hear the name Bournemouth I have to watch the following video (it may have been given an airing on the pre-match thread, apologies if so).

I often wonder if the guy who runs on to the pitch is the same one who ran on with the brolly when Dalian scored his wonder goal against Wimbledon

Maybe because they lost on Wednesday at home to shitty Leeds.

At least now they can concentrate on getting promotion, so they can spend next season getting twatted at big stadiums all over the country.
