Would a forwards coach get anymore out of Gabby, Weimann and N'Zogbia?

With Gil in, we only need two more to repalce that triumvirate who have been huffing and puffing and creating next to nothing for two and a half seasons.

Its no good having a coach come in and introducing runs for players to make, if they lack the inteligence to do it in the first place.

Yes but it was a Jedi mind trick like Obi Wan Kenobi saying 'you don't need to see our papers' to a Stormtrooper.

These are not the goals you're looking for.  (Waves hand in mystic manner)

You're Paul Lambert and I claim my £5.

You obviously have little faith in coaching, Ads, if you're going to knock out tiresome cliches like that. A coach apart from helping improve the players would also advise the manager as to the limits of the players ability to the manager's preferred system. In fact, the list of benefits a good coach could bring to the team are almost endless. Sadly, English football gives far too much importance to 'personalities' than actual ability which is hardly surprising given the nature and opinion makers in the media.

Spot on, the team is screaming out for some decent coaching.  It's very easy to say that just getting better players means you're better, and that attitude has made the league the money pit it is, but a good coaching setup gets a lot more out of the individual players than you often see.  Look at Man Utd and how many times they had pretty average players in their squads whilst they were winning trophy after trophy.  Yes they spent a lot as well and yes they had some top players, but the likes of Butt, Cleverley, etc show that if the players are well coached and know what each other are doing they can be a lot more than the sum of their parts.

Easily my biggest complaint about Lambert is that he took on the 'young and hungry' ethos without actually putting the coaching structure in place that you need for it to work.  What really pisses me off is that lots of people will now feel utterly vindicated in saying that young and hungry can never work and demanding experience, when it could've worked perfectly for where we were and what the fans expected if we'd got it even remotely right.

Peter Taylor is on the wireless now. Always thought he has a good view of coaching. Someone like him would do us well.

Peter Taylor is a good shout. Has always appeared to be a sound coach but struggled as manager.

Fine. I will do it.

Keep it on the ground lads, into the mixah! Play it short, no, long to the big man. Tight at the back, play out from the back!

Its pointless signing a new coach when we have a new multi billionaire owner waiting in the wings.
