Just looking on stats zone.

Gil made 21/25 passes when he was on.

Gabby made 10/10.

Awful.

Somebody behind me made the very good point after the ball was bobbing about in their six yard box and Benteke effectively stood looking at it. He said "If that was Peter Withe, the ball, the goalkeeper and at least two defenders would have gone into the net".   Christian Benteke of a year ago would have come steaming into those situations and there was only ever going to be one winner,

Ron,

I actually dreamt our new manager was frank lampard last week. Strange
Clearly you have a thing for Frank and annoyingly so does my wife!

I had an ex fiance who had a thing for David Seaman.
If ever there was an open invite for a line that's it. But I can't think of one so I'll get me coat
I can think of hundreds, but none of them for the delicate ears that grace H&V!

Remember his goal in the the pre-season game against Malaga? And that was a fucking friendly!

I posted in the match thread that he received two really good crosses early on in the game, one from Hutton and one from Gabby, and he gave no acknowledgment to either player. A very bad sign, I would say.

So Gabby has managed to score 29 goals in his last 151 games in all competitions.Only under mr clueless could he be one of the first names on the team sheet and made captain. No wonder we are in a mess!

Can't believe he is captain.

in the opta stats, Gabby and Benteke covered the least amount of ground out of all our outfield players who completed the whole game. And therein lies a large part of our problems

Unfortunately for us our defence is 20% of our problems, midfield is 50% of our problems, goalscoring 80% of our problems and our manager 90% of our problems. That is before we factor in the owner. Mathematically that is a lot of 'problem'.

How on earth is he captain? It makes him essentially in the side till Vlaar is back, whatever happens?

I just don't get it with him - even his pace has gone. There was a moment when Gil beat a man and slipped Hutton in - great position in the area and I thought that is exactly the run from wide Gabby should be making there. He might not have done any more with the ball than Hutton did mind!

An old mate of mine (who I didn't realise read the board) has posted a link to this thread on Facebook, stating that Jimbo's post on the Hungarian film director was the single best post he's read on here.

I was close to agreeing, but mused that for me the best post was whoever it was that described MON as a "vichy c**t"

Yeah, I had to google that Hungarian fella. H&V - where high art and threads on poohing are a regular juxtaposition.
