I listened to  Pat Murphy asking him a few questions. Lambert actually said "Can't fault them they were excellent". I can't believe Murphy did not go back with "OK Paul they were excellent than where is the problem?"
At one stage PM said "what about Gil Paul when he came on there was more speed and quick passing will you start with him next week?" Lambert replied " Hey errrr ummmmm he's a young lad joined us this week aha   aaaa.. he is 20 years old we bought him in to provide something different". Will he F in play next week Paul?????
I listened to that interview, you must have better hearing than me because all I heard was some noise in response to Pat Murphy.

Until Gil came on, that was shocking.

Yup. Even by current 'standards' today was really poor.

Gabby has to be dropped on current form. It seems the best we can hpoe for is for him to be an impact player from the bench. Problem is we have so few other players with pace. Bacuna isn't too bad pace wise but that's it really.

For anyone who watched the game, did Gil look like he has any pace?

Gil has no pace but has decent feet and can beat a man.

If Lerner is worried about paying him off, could we keep The Twit and use him as chief scout, while replacing him in a managerial capacity with someone with more than two brain cells?

After Westwood and Cleverley were given the hook we started to look like a team. Gil changed the complexion of the game and if the Benteke effort had beaten Mignolet or if Baker had connected then I think we would've got at least a point.

Good things: Gil, Delph, Sanchez, Okore, Guzan, Hutton.

Bad things: Cleverley, Westwood, Agbonlahor.

Message to Lambert: there are at least three clubs that are more likely to be relegated than us so don't be scared. In Baker. Okore and Clark you have a cohort of centre-halves that can do a job - sell Vlaar for as much money as you can get. Keep Delph until the end of the season he may just save your job.

Message to Lerner: you came to the poker table with millions and Martin. You lost. And now you just keep ponying up just enough to keep you in the game. I'm not sure that that was what you and the General promised.

I knew it wasn't going to be our day when I saw Michael 'Something of the Night' Howard getting on the Witton train at New Street.

Did he over rule the train guard

I don't know. Did he threaten to over rule him?

We looked like a team for all of 15 mins, when we mustered a couple of half chances.
Once Liverpool got to grips with our changes, started a bit of time wasting to kill the tempo of the game and then go on to score their second, then our fight petered out.

I'd say (a poor) Liverpool coped with us pretty easily.

Keeping or paying him off equals same thing from money point of view.

If we (the fans) were horses they would shoot us to put us out of our misery. The little spell when Carles and Weimann came on and we had a go was like a hallucianary window of pleasure ,the fans responding and it was great while it lasted.Unfortunately Brendao Rodgers is not a complete idiot and reacted with his own subs and we died on our feet.
Sad times at the moment, how much more of this do we have to endure?

Not if we send him to Mosul on a scouting mission.

Really poor until the last 25 minutes.

The so called protest failed to materialize.  Some people arrived to their seats late, but thats the norm (never understood why people arrive late to games.  They know what time it starts - its on the bloody ticket).

Really like the look of Gil.  Looks pretty creative and we did get some really good chances, but you can see our confidence in the final third is shot to pieces.  Agbonlahor is finished at this level, just has no desire any more.

Some reasons to be cautiously optimistic in the latter stages, but the harsh reality is its another game without a goal and that has to be sorted QUICKLY.

The Danish commentator said "I have no sympathy for Lambert with that starting line-up". 4 central midfielders is cowardly, of course we would not create anything with that. We cannot have Cleverley, Westwood and Sanchez in the same team. Gil was very, very good, he certainly makes things happen. He created more in 10 minutes than Cleverley has done all season. Westwood is not the player who mostly deserves to be dropped, but the balance needs to be right. Actually a midfield with Delph+Sanchez and Gil in front of them looks very good. Having to watch Cleverley play knowing that he does not really want to be here is very frustrating. 1 goal in 7 league games and facing Arsenal and Chelsea next  is just so depressing. With a bit of luck, we will score a league goal again on the 10. of February...

If only there would be a reaction, but we all know there wont. Lambert will still be here and he will still start with Agbonlahor and Cleverley and say we were excellent. I do not particularly want us to buy Sinclair, but having to listen to such a deal not being financially possible, makes you wonder when we will see a light at the end of the tunnel...

Gabby is a busted flush.

A number of us said so last season.  Some thought so before.

A number of us have said that for longer than that.  Indeed, it was fairly predictable from day one how his career would pan out once his electric pace started to wane.  The trouble is because he's the Brummie-boy who has also scored a few derby goals, he's been given a much longer length of rope by the supporters.
