I wonder how long it will be before the Lambert apologists start to show their heads above the parapet?   About Tuesday at a guess.   We deserve Lambert because we have done so little to get rid of him for so long.

Do you really need to come out with "Lambert apologists"? If, for whatever reason, anyone still supports him, then they are fully entitled to that view.
No-one's debating whether they're entitled to that view but Brian's not wrong in his description.

There was a "poisonous" atmosphere in the away end apparently. Looks like the fans have properly turned now.

You could hear it when Sanchez was taken off. Loud boos and chants of 'you don't know what you're doing' and 'Lambert out'.

The only positive might be it could shake the complacency out of the club this transfer window. We can go down, we are not safe, there are not 3 teams worse than us and we do need to spend to stay up.

Now is the time to open up that chequebook Randy.

Not with Lambert. Get a new man in by next weekend, Lambert has had more than enough time and funds to improve us.

He should have gone last summer. The last 9 games of last season was every bit as bad.

In the last 30 league games we have 26 points. 10 of those were in the first four games in August, and a total of 17 goals.

It has the feeling of an unstoppable momentum.

I've probably said it many times before, but almost every time I see us play it astounds me that there actually teams below us in the league.  In terms of style, passing accuracy, movement off the ball, general footballing intelligence we look worse than any other team in the division, and even a few in the one below.

Don't know if this makes sense, but to me watching we play like we're going up a very steep hill.  The momentum, if there is any, is always backwards.  We never seem to drive or surge forwards properly.

Maybe I look at us with a more critical eye because I want us to play so much better?

No, I agree, he isn't. I'd love to see someone coming on here now supporting that tosser of a manager and us all saying that he or she is entitled to that view.

Is it me are the entire Villa team playing like sweepers?

I have no idea what this new style of play is trying to achieve and nor do the players.

I desperately want the managers job but only if Lerner is still running (?) the show. How much does it pay?

The term Lambert apologists is in my view both fair and balanced.   There are fans on here who support him and I think so long as that is the case those of us who think he is useless have no choice but to accept that.

The truth is we don't have the quality to play a posession game and by trying something different he has turned a shit team into an even shitier team, he is single handidly destroying Benteke who never gets space now because the ball takes so long to get up to him.
Villa Park is in depression.

There certainly used to be Brian but I think even they have ebbed away now and everyone is pretty much united in their opinion of him. Judging by this thread tonight, it is rapidly turning to hatred as well.
