Thanks to Legion, i'm home and in the warm! And can feel my fingers!

Have to agree with LTA, Grealish was poor. That's 2 starts against lower league opposition and he has done very little in either game. And thank fuck Given still knows how to be a very good shot stopper and Fonz can't head the ball or we'd have been behind at HT.

You know things aren't going well when The Holte is singing "One goal, we only want one goal" late on in a game against Blackpool and mock cheering corners and anything approaching a shot. We even pretended to score.

Is there any point in mentioning the only positive in that we have conceded in ages?

Nah, thought not. We don't do entertainment do we?

Just got in and am thawing out.
I'n not quite sure how to say this, given that we have 'won' but, that was absolute, utter fucking garbage and that wanker of a manager  needs to be gone ASAP.
40 mins before our first effort on goal.
60 mins before a shot on target.
Lethargic, predictable and clueless, against a team propping up the championship.
Over the next few weeks we will start slipping down the table and will soon be in our annual relegation battle, unless we change things now.

English football is turgid right now. Playing 10 men behind the ball and committing very few forwards will give you half a chance against anyone up to and sometimes including the top 5/6. Very poor league for the past 4 years I've felt.

A win. A painful win. A win, nonetheless. Next round it is. It is our year, definitely.

Lots of average / poor performances indivually. Very little going forward but defence overall was competent

Westwood wss played too deep even as a sweeper. And why oh why do we still bring everyoneback for corners.

There's theory that it's easier to counter attack when everyone's back and facing goal.

Just got in

Another woeful display - against a team rock bottom of the championship .

What the hell was Westwood doing playing at Libero for the first 30 mins .

This bloke is completely clueless - haphazardly lurching from one mental tactic to the next.

Just go .

He started so deep it looked like we were playing with a back 3. Then we seemed to realise it was Blackpool we were playing and he pushed further forward.

It didn't look very turgid when I was watching 30 goals fly in on MOTD

Grealish proved Lambert is absolutely right to be using him from the bench, he was anonymous. It's all very well trying to play possession but it's pointless possession. There's no probing forward, just turgid sideways balls that allow the opposition to get in position, which in turn makes it difficult to create openings. We don't look like conceding but there's little threat and it won't change until we start getting the ball into dangerous positions. Benteke is utterly wasted and although the football of the last 2 years hasn't been great, at least the direct nature meant he got the ball in the final third. The new system starves him and we'll end up losing him without getting any benefit for his stay.

Was I the only who kept thinking that when we did get a good attack going, that inflatable ball was going to end up on the pitch and cock it up?

*Cue jokes about an attack and making a change from a Villa player cocking it up*
