As finances dictate I have to pick and choose, it's why i'm doing Leicester and Sunderland and skipping this one. Plus Leicester and Sunderland will cost me the same as this one game would. No brainer for me. That Hogg/Bannan game was the last time I was at VP for a game against them and i've had a ST nearly every year since then. The time before that was the game where Scholes scored that screamer. I think those were my two last Man United matches, too. That Scholes goal was one of the best I've ever seen at Villa Park. What a player he was.He was also a cheating bastard and would've been sent off for the multitude of yellow card offences he committed prior to that goal had he played for any other club.It has become an accepted truth in the SKY era that Paul Scholes was one of the genuine greats. He was obviously a very good player, but was he really up there with the likes of Zidane? Thinking back, did he really produce on the international stage like players of that stature did? I seem to remember him being shifted around to accommodate other players in central midfield. I accept that my intense dislike of 'Man Yoo' might cloud my judgement on him!!

Slight tangent, and not aimed at anyone on this thread at the moment, just a general point, but I'll never understand why Villa fans who pick and choose their games so often pick this one. When I pick and choose, my first instinct is to pick one we're likely to get something out of, rather than one where year after year we get either fuck all, or exceptionally close to it.
Each to their own opinions but since he's been back they've won straight 6. I'm not Yanited fan and I don't look forward to seeing them win at villa but the £27 admission on Saturday will be largely worth it even if we lose to see some quality play , carrick is brilliant at what he does, very much a footballers footballer.
I remember the joy of seeing Ronaldo play in person. I can't wait to tell the grandkids how he graced the VP turf and I saw him, one of the greatest players in the world. Especially as it will involve him trying his stepover tricks and promptly putting the ball out of play to the delight of The Holte, the showboating twat.
Are you a young fan eager to wear your festive jumper? Are you attending the Man Utd game this weekend? If the answer to both these questions is yes, get down to the Fun Zone in the Indoor Academy on Saturday before the match. Our Fun Zone - which occurs from 12noon to 3pm before the Red Devils clash - will have a festive flavour. There will be a choir singing carols - and Santa Claus will also be in attendance for photos in a fly-by from the North Pole.As well as that, we are asking junior supporters to don Christmas tops.We will be posting the best pictures online on our various media channels and we will be giving out prizes to those we think are the most exemplary - and the funniest too, of course. Our prizes range from copies of FIFA 15, signed merchandise from the players and even claret and blue rubber ducks which have come straight from the fish tanks at the SEA LIFE Centre - the venue for the weekend JV-Life Christmas Party. There will be the usual fun activities in the popular pre-match venue, such as the EA Sports FIFA 15 pods, Match Attax and face painting. But even this will have a merry theme, with a bucking reindeer on hand to test your co-ordination.The Fun Zone really is the perfect way to enjoy the build-up to the game for kids - so get down there on Saturday for some ace activities.Mascots Hercules and Bella will be coming along too!Disabled entrance access is on the road side of the Indoor Academy.
Red Devils? Oh, do f*ck off.
I won't be there. Even when I have a ST I often don't go to this one, it was the only home game I missed last season. I hate this game more than any other. I hate Manure more than other club, I hate their gloryhunting fans, I hate their Manc fans, I hate that no matter how good we are, no matter how crap they are, we never beat the bastards at home. We could be on our way to our 10th title in a row, they could be in the Conference and the fuckers would still turn us over in the cup. I really fucking hate Brummie Reds, classless gloryhunting wankers, give me a match going nose every day of the week. Please Villa, beat these bastards, show that good can overcome evil.
