I also generally avoid the Yanited game like the plague. But this time I'm going. I must be mental.
I will probably go to old Trafford too as I haven't been for ages and may just give it another go.

Last time I went to Old trafford was the Liverpool semi in 1996.

Slight tangent, and not aimed at anyone on this thread at the moment, just a general point, but I'll never understand why Villa fans who pick and choose their games so often pick this one.

When I pick and choose, my first instinct is to pick one we're likely to get something out of, rather than one where year after year we get either fuck all, or exceptionally close to it.

Same here. As finances dictate I have to pick and choose, it's why i'm doing Leicester and Sunderland and skipping this one. Plus Leicester and Sunderland will cost me the same as this one game would. No brainer for me.

That Hogg/Bannan game was the last time I was at VP for a game against them and i've had a ST nearly every year since then. The time before that was the game where Scholes scored that screamer.

I think those were my two last Man United matches, too.

That Scholes goal was one of the best I've ever seen at Villa Park. What a player he was.

He was also a cheating bastard and would've been sent off for the multitude of yellow card offences he committed prior to that goal had he played for any other club.

Last time I went Diego Forlan scored his first Yanited goal at something like the 356th attempt. I was also there when Andy (Andrew?) cole broke his duck against us

I've no interest in seeing us roll over and get twatted by this subhuman scum, again. Next game is Swansea away, Lambore has a decentish record against them for him.

Honestly I think it will be the usual, followed by the traditional Villa christmas collapse then we are back into the same nightmare run of expensive teams for January.

Yeah I am not confident.

Even without all our injuries and suspensions we are no-hopers for this match, as per.

I feel fortunate to have been at the never win anything with kids game...might never happen again!

Last time I saw us beat them at VP was twice in the 92/93 season!

the game in 95 was one of the first appearances by Beckham & he has had an entire career :-(

knowing Villa we'll likely lose this, or win, maybe even draw

Think we need Sancez to have a big game here as if we lose control of midfield we will be chasing shadows all afternoon.  And of course Benteke to produce the hold up play to bring Gabby into play.  This game has come at the worst possible time for us (like that is ever a good time), 1-4 to them.

I think we will win this one.

They've won six on the spin and had more jam than Hartleys in the process. The Dippers had enough gilt edge chances to have won that yesterday, which is a similar story to Man Yanited's previous two away games. They're abysmal defensively. There was a point where Markovic (sp) picked up the ball and just ran in a straight line unchallenged for forty yards.

If we don't concede an early goal, I honestly think we will get something.

I dunno, I think you're sticking your neck out a bit there.
