Platt or Merson?

His City pay off maybe about to end perhaps?Would have to disagree with that Cigs. He was fantastic in his last two seasons for us, scoring loads of goals and becoming a top international player as well.

Merson was a different kind of player, a creator who occasionally scored stunning goals. Platt was box to box goalscoring midfielder.
Platt as big a spoon face as he is was quality and the best midfielder I've seen down the Villa for 25 years.Platt, Cowans, Mcgrath, Neilsen, Mcinally. Now there is a strong spine to the team. Taylor working his magic in the market there.
