My first away game of the season today. Fingers crossed for some shots on goal.

The son and I are going. Last minute decision to be part of the 4000. I remember doing this at Wigan when the away fans turned on McLeish, will we see a repeat today? I truly hope not and this can be our turnng point. However I'm going for a 1-1 and we limp on with Lambert.

This is a must win.

With 30% possession and a single shot on goal, its a tall order but we must believe we can do it

On the plus side it doesn't look as though the weather will be too bad up there. Mr Sox is nearly here so see you up there. UTV!

I'm not used to getting up this early to get ready for a game!

What time are you and Mr Sox starting off?

He's getting here any time now and then we're heading up. If we get there early we'll just have a bite to eat.

Word of warning! It's my birthday today and we never ever win on my special day, or the closest match to it. A win would make my day, but I am sure I can rely on Villa to fuck that up, as they seem do everything else. And at least a loss might have 4,000 fans baying for that idiot's head which hopefully will be the signal for him to be kicked out

I cannot believe any Villa fan would not want us to win

I can see both sides. I want us to win and badly. But a part of me wants Lambert gone and the only way that is going to happen is is losing. It's the silver cloud associated to us not winning tomorrow that would make losing in any way tolerable. I hate to be where I am mentally.

I can certainly relate to that. Nothing beats a Villa win and it makes such a huge difference to my mood and weekend. But I desperately want this individual gone from my club and that would make me almost as happy, if not more so just now. Sadly.

Andy Lochhead to turn out for them in the first half and score the only goal of the half. Second half Andy Lochhead will turn out for us and score the only goal of the half.
So 1-1. Not bad enough to get Lambert out I'm afraid.

Used to love Martin Dobson for them. Memories come flooding back of Brian Flynn, Steve Kindon et al. Didn't Leighton James used to play for them too?

It will be an interesting day I think and not only because of recent events. The contrast between what is likely to be our lowest home attendance of the season on monday against what looks like being the highest away support will add to the mix.

I suppose its going to be like playing a championship side in the cup who are going to be right up for it to beat a great name
In Aston villa .  loads of passion and fight from the underdog ?   no , not villa.

McGrath helps us .

I know what you mean but I've just got a feeling that we'll win and keep a clean sheet .

Brian Flynn and Leighton James, pure class.
