Southampton have scored 25 goals this season, we've scored 5.

I'm with Lizz on this one, a Villa win and Lambert to get a contract extension.

Has anyone contemplated we could be bottom 3 by the time we kick off Monday ! Then we could actually go bottom by 5pm next Saturday.
This club needs to wake up and fast.

The club that puts you to sleep (in the manner of a much-loved pet maybe) needs to wake up fast!

Absolutely spot on. I really find it difficult to imagine how we can survive.

Dream on guys. There is no waking up fast scenario here or is one likely for a long time to come. We are in terminal decline and relegation is, and has been for some time, an inevitability I feel. While I fully understand all the huge disadvantages it would bring and all the implications about becoming a Leeds or a Wolves etc, I actually think it is what is now required to re-ignite the spark and passion in the club that has been lost in huge quantities. So I'm prepared to take that risk

Sounds a bit pessimistic but I honestly think you are probably in the right ball park with this. I'm positive it will be a heavy, humiliating defeat.

Now in 16th place, not long before we nudge down into the bottom three where will reside for some time to come.

Maybe then everyone will wake up and smell the sh**.

Monday evening. Game on TV (I assume) and any expectation of a result very low indeed. That sounds about right to be honest. Probably not much more than that.

Judging by Viagogo there will be a lot less in the ground than the announced attendance.

I reckon you are right.

It would be interesting to have a snapshot of the seats remaining on that site just before the match is taken down.

While we are on the subject, I was intrigued to learn last season that there is a time lag between the seat being sold and the club getting their customer data updated. That is, you can get get a call from the club about buying tickets when you purchased them a couple of days previously on Viagogo.

Graziano Pelle has a deal with Conte on this one......hot Italian bloke stuffs Villa defence and gains starting role in next Italian Euro qualifier.

Villa will win 1-0 now......FML

I'll be there. But why I have no answer. It's like being invited to a car crash,,,

I am going because I like the bracing breezes in the Upper Witton and staring at the floodlights until visions appear. Sometimes the digital advertising hoardings show unworldly colours and you can imagine you are at a drive-in cinema Northern California in Winter circa 1967 watching a psychedelic movie stoned on mescal.

Also the group of chaps sitting behind provide a constant stream of banter based light entertainment. I now know all the players who need to grow a pair, all the bottlers, all the fanny danglers and fancy Dans, the thimble riggers and the Nancy boys.

"Yer WEAK!" goes up the cry. "Yer fuckin WEAK!".
"Put yer fuckin foot in!"
"Get it forward yer fuckin haircut!"
"Fuckin pointer sisters! Track your man!"
"There's no ***** in the box!"
"Get it wide ya fuckin quiff!"

I must say that even though I am of the Church Mystic rather then the Church Militant, I often find myself in agreement with these stout Black Country yeomen, and find myself chuckling at their earthy wisdom.

Sometimes, standing in the horizontal sleet on the Birmingham bound  platform at Aston Station having stood on the Lichfield Road for half an hour breathing in the toxic traffic fumes, and then another half an hour on the stairs breathing in Skunk fumes, the stars spangle in the indigo sky and seem to say: "Don't worry, son. The cricket season starts in April".

That many? I don't think I'd go right now if you paid me. I will go and watch it in the pub down here though. Another wasted two hours of my life probably
