I can't stand that Song but what a signing he has been for them.
If he went to West Ham, he'd have come to us. It's a shame. They showed a bit of ambition to get him. He's a big player. He was in a bit of a rut, but he's still a big player. He absolutely shits over anything we have in midfield. And that includes Delph.

Not really, Gold and Sullivan will be paying him bigger wages than we'd ever contemplate.

And given he's already played for Arsenal you'd imagine he'd rather play in London again given the opportunity.

I'd much rather have gone for Diame who was made available with Song coming in. We could do with that athletic sort in midfield now with Delph out for the forseeable future.
Yep, I'd have gone for Diame too. Financially we should be able to compete with West Bloody Ham though. Under Lerner of course we won't, but it's frustrating to see a club like them getting a player like Song, whilst we get a loan of Tom Cleverley.

We need to stop the rot sometime so I reckon we will get a draw 1-1.

2-0 West Ham.

Our record against Big Sam in the premier league is P20 W5, D7, L8. The bloke knows how to play us down the years and I can't see us threatening them much.

Another way of looking at it is more often than not we get at least a point against his teams.

They have been helped by selling off Upton Park and getting the Olympic Stadium for free ,that and increased TV money has given them money to spend this season.

West Ham have Sakho and Carroll fit for the game.

More or less every group of fans in the league think their team has a record of gifting points to teams who most need them.  West Ham fans in particular.

They're all wrong though, we're the most generous team in the league.

Thing is, no else sees it either.  Just been in the barbers, in Bedford so obviously the three guys that work in there are Liverpool and Man U fans, and they are incredulous about us losing 6 on the trot and think we are "decent" "no way you'll go down mate"  When I pointed out Lamberts record, they were genuinely flabbergasted.

Its also rare that Lambert gets any real criticism in the media, there seems to be a bit of an assumption that he's doing an ok job under financial restrictions, nobody ever seems to call him out directly on his shortcomings.

Although I suppose its pretty rare for the media to directly say 'this manager sucks' about anyone.

As for the game, I think we'll surprise everyone and get a narrow win, 0-1.  But I wouldn't be the least surprised to see us lose again.

6 straight defeats? Only 1 goal scored in 6 games? Villa's best striker suspended? Villa playing away in London? West Ham riding high in the table and scoring for fun?

Nailed on away win. That's the West Ham way - turning over the top teams and then surrendering meekly to the strugglers.

Hope you all have a good day out. Try and get time to see the poppies at the Tower - worth the time.
