Would I spoil things more if I said it probably wasn't Villa's birthday anyway?
It's not a particularly relevant date anyway. 150th is worth celebrating, 140 is just a number with a 0 on the end of it.
Do we know the actual site where they first met to discuss forming a football club. I wouldn't mind a blue plaque going up.
A replica gas lamp outside the ground somewhere would be quite a nice idea I think. A nod to history without going down the full blown statue route.
next time there is a stand to be named I'll suggest that our 4 founding fathers should get a name check somewhere.

A nod to history without going down the full blown statue route. For added authenticity the club could employ four young men dressed in period clothing to stand under the gas lamp on match days with a group of young ragamuffins playing around them. Just so everyone knew why they were there two of them could be holding cricket bats and the other two playing keepy uppy with a real leather football.Over time the whole area at the back of the Witton End could be transformed into the Aston Villa Theme Park. With 'true to life' depictions of the clubs history in all it's glory.
Weird thread. Three people, including two moderators, seem rather vociferous about peter w's post.Sometimes people just have an opinion on something.
