Being shit at throw ins is the Villa way.

I reckon we should ditch "Prepared" and rotate the slogan weekly, every week one of these gets chosen at random:

"Shit at throw-ins"
"No movement off the ball" (or whatever it is in latin)
"Weird floaty corners"
"If only we were that good at home"

Heh, 3 of those are still true unfortunately. Happily I was pretty impressed by our corners and free kicks which is a huge improvement. They even drew a bit of Lee Dixon praise on the telly over here as he noted each one was different and very well rehearsed.

Incidentally he is paired up with Arlo White who spooges himself every home Liverpool game with a belting "THIS IS ANFIELD!"

Probably because we're too lazy to type out Scandinavians.

It was hilarious the way some were demanding Senderos be thrown to the Wolves for kicking Balotelli and citing the way Suarez was dealt with as justification.

Kicking someone is a bit different to racially abusing them or biting a chunk out of them.

FourFourTwo did a survey a few years back and the top flight team with the most season ticket holders outside the City/Town postcode of the clubs was surprisingly Southampton.

I've never understood why they aren't held in the same regard as most Man Utd supporters, I've said before that I see far more kids in Liverpool shirts at my sons football and all of their parents are in their 30's or 40's with no connection to the city whatsoever. I know I have no connection to Aston but I've been rubbish at most things in life, glory hunting being one of them.

I remember a mate of mine saying he was on a Leeds European away trip and there were three lads with cockney accents chanting 'Yorkshire, Yorkshire'.

That's not surprising given that they've got pretty much the whole south of England outside London to themselves.

The Swedish and Danes were pretty vocal on the RAWK thread. As were lots of "I didn't watch the match, but" type posters.

From what I heard of Rodgers response to questions about the Senderos and Balotelli stuff he was far more impressive than Wenger or Mourinho would have been. Basically it is a man's game so you have to man up. Wenger would have seen everything for a change and Mourinho would have been bringing it up in a year's time even if one of his players had decapitated one of ours in the meantime.

Non vivax sine orbis ludum.

Or something like that, I had to paraphrase.

He was very close to the Hutton tackle and didn't even bat an eyelid.

Nothing in football is as amusing as Liverpool supporters who believe the media and authorities have it in for them. They don't just say it - they truly believe it.
The whole psyche of that city is one of being a victim. Stems back decades.

With good reason very often, and it's not their proper supporters who are the worst culprits in this case. Which leads me onto something else I've often wondered. Why do we call Manchester United supporters Cockneys/from Surrey and the rest of it, and Liverpool Scousers when they have more out of towners than anyone?

My guess would be that the Man U era of dominance coincided with a period of high attendances throughout the PL, so it was a easy 'win' to piss off a Man U fan, "you're a glory hunter who can't even be bothered to turn up."  The Liverpool era coincided with lower attendances (crowd violence?) so actually attending was less of a badge of honour.

I wasn't old enough to go during the 80's but had season tickets through the second half of the nineties and that alone was justification to dismiss the opinion of most Man U fans I met.

I am a bit amazed at the lack of condemnation for Senderos in the national media, and feel a bit sorry for Ballotelli who is not getting sympathy based on his past, which is harsh. Other way round we would be fuming.

agreed, Hutton's tackle was worse and an unwelcome reminder of his past indiscretions in a Villa shirt. Senderos hacked down one of the Newcastle forwards in a similar manner a couple of weeks ago and got booked.

a look at the Grealish thread will prove that hypocrisy isnt just confined to RAWK
