It's a great start to the season, with some more hard games to come.

That said we have Tekkers and Kozak still to come back..so it looks promising so far. We seem to have a plan and a structure that works well for the players we have. It  also seems odd that by having two full backs in form the defence looks much better. Maybe that was the defensive problem all along!

Great victory, made Liverpool look very ordinary (am I on my own in thinking they have bought badly?). Defensively really assured, hard working throughout. We look so much tougher all over the park. Well done Lambert!

Liverpool look like they have done what Spurs did, which is take a huge fee for an exceptional player and try and replace him with 6 that are nowhere near as good while still spending huge money. Had they gone and spent 40 million on 1 forward they would probably have been better off.

I hope Senderos is not retrospectively done for the kick.

I think he will be because of the Liverpool love fest that exists. Senderos was booked against Hull for exactly the same thing.

Yep that Forest kit is nice.

Anyone remember the 77 win at anfield 2-1 Andy Gray both goals , white top , light blue shorts , white socks , Umbro.
As a kid watching that on MOTD was a magical evening, it's always good to win there , still.

White shorts! According to this anyway.

We have a habit of getting good results in all white against teams wearing all red.

Lovern cost more than the whole Villa starting XI.

Yes Matt, I raised an eyebrow when they spent 20mill on him. I really don't think he's at that level.

What a great win. Well done to all of the players who played today.

Liverpool didn't look threatening at all. That is some achievement by our defence at Anfield.

Baker great game, Swiss Phil can now release Super Mario from his pocket, but the defending today was not just the defenders, Andi did so much work to stop their fullback getting involved, Cleverley the same on the other flank, that was a whole team fighting for each other, not pretty to look at, at times, but bloody effective.
That spirit I believe is down to the introduction of one Mr. Keane and fair play to Lambert for appointing him.
God you can make me happy at times Villa.

It's that all-white kit what won it. Love that kit.

A brilliant result but rather than get a match analysis from you bunch of one-eyed amateurs, i'll tune in to TalkSport tomorrow to get an in-depth professional diagnosis from Micky Quinn.

Fat thick twat had to admit we played well. Talkshite did their usual tokenistic thing where the absence of Vlaar got the briefest of mentions and yet the absence of a player who was nowhere near his level in the WC, Sturridge, was analysed to death. Lots of mentions about Balotelli having had flu, Sterling not starting et al, but nothing about Benteke or Kozak being out, or Okore working his way back to fitness

I was a very proud Villan watching the match in a bar in Glasgow last night. Stuck out like a sore thumb, mind, but the locals didn't seem to mind. Great smash and grab by Villa, second in the league and looking like a team. Bring on the Arse.

It seems obvious that there is a different feel about the team. The two who were sacked obviously had a major negative influence on things and this has been replaced by the positivity that Keane has brought. Add in the introduction of a bit of experience, by way of the re-introduction of Hutton etc. and the adding of Senderos and Richrdson, and there is a completely different mindset throughout the club.

I don't think he will be. It was very silly, but not violent. They tend not to bother with anything that isn't violent conduct after the match.
