Absolutely without question the thing that has improved exponentially this season has been our organisation. No surprise it comes with having a few more experienced heads in the team.

I think having a couple of physical fullbacks has also really helped, as opposed to the likes of Lowton, Bennett and Luna who'd get blown over by a gnats fart. Hutton and Cissokho are also fairly useful in the air too.

I thought Sanchez looked a tad lost when he came on. Mind you, it must be so difficult at that stage to get to the pace of such a frenetic game and when the ball is coming on to you all the time

I thought that was the perfect away game by Villa today, the first 20 minutes we played some excellent stuff took the lead then PL changed formation and almost totally snuffed Liverpool out for the rest of the game by the whole team working their socks off and limiting Liverpool to just one shot on target.

Well done to PL for his tactics today, that was the first time in a long while I could totally relax for the whole of the second half watching us defend a one goal lead.

I agree to an extent but I always think these 'deserved wins' after a backs-to-the-wall performance are pretty fickle. Coutinho's shot flies in, what then? It's all what ifs but ultimately Liverpool didn't do enough today. I'm not convinced that playing without any attacking intent for most of the game is the way to go.

You carry on being as miserable as you like. The rest of us can celebrate a win at Anfield.

Of course I celebrate the result it was a great shift defensively, it doesn't mean that I can't question the long-term ploy of playing so negatively. Christ, not everything is always black and white you know

I think once we get these next 4 out the way we'll see a more adventurous Villa side, particularly as we'll have the Beast back by then too and players like TC, Sanchez and Richardson will be well and truly settled in (hopefully).

I think the fact we have two experienced and physical fullbacks help the centre halves big time, especially from set pieces. Also, credit to Westwood yet again, his delivery from Fredericks and corners was excellent - he has had a great 4 league games so far.

Yep so far so good. I do agree though, those games against the sort of bottom 12 I suppose, are the ones we didn't pick enough points up in last season. Our squad looks a lot better now all over the pitch. We've got a lot more midfield quality. We've got Tekkers coming back. I can see us dishing out a few batterings and I don't envision us dropping quite so many points at Villa park against sides like Palace, Fulham etc, like we did last year.

I reckon we'll be looking more at the 50 point region this season as opposed to desperately scraping to get to 40.

Wow, I'm literally stunned, what an amazing result and start to the season.  We more than deserved to be ahead in the first half, and Senderos was a rock.  Second half, I was getting really annoyed by just how cheaply we conceded possession.  Every single goal kick, and even worse, throw in straight to a red shirt.  It was a superbly well organised performance though, and apart from the effort off the post, not too many heart-in-the-mouth moments.

There seems to be a superb spirit in the camp, and everybody worked their jollocks off.  I'd have given Senderos MOTM, but don't have too many complaints about Baker getting it, even with his stupid hipster haircut and beard!

Random observation - how out of place do Charles N'Zogbia's black boots look?

As for Liverpool, Balotelli and Lambert are by no stretch any sort of replacement for Suarez.

Superb stuff, I'm absolutely chuffed and can't wait to get into work on Monday to see the very many Scousers.

He was out of position when he came on. Delph had to tell him where he should be but I think language was an issue.

Just a repeat of last season really in terms of how the game panned out, god Liverpool must hate playing us at Anfield.

Am I right we go top if we beat Arsenal? I know it won't last but after the last 4 years it makes sense to enjoy this feel good factor while it lasts.
