Dwight Yorkes comment after lamberts interview said it all

Aston villa are a massive club and there's no better support in the country

Villa till i die

Just back from the pub and there certainly isn't. Quite a few Villa fans there, several down for the Goodwood Revival festival, including a big skinhead guy from Worcester - which was just as well the way we celebrated in front of the glory hunting bindippers. Left the pub to renditions of 'oh when the villa, oh when the villa, oh when the villa go marching in' from all corners! Fantastic night, I am so bloody happy for a change

I thought that was the perfect away game by Villa today, the first 20 minutes we played some excellent stuff took the lead then PL changed formation and almost totally snuffed Liverpool out for the rest of the game by the whole team working their socks off and limiting Liverpool to just one shot on target.

Well done to PL for his tactics today, that was the first time in a long while I could totally relax for the whole of the second half watching us defend a one goal lead.

I'm not quite sure I "relaxed"

I agree to an extent but I always think these 'deserved wins' after a backs-to-the-wall performance are pretty fickle. Coutinho's shot flies in, what then? It's all what ifs but ultimately Liverpool didn't do enough today. I'm not convinced that playing without any attacking intent for most of the game is the way to go.

Nothing to see here. Just a top four team grinding out the usual win against mid-table mediocrity.

Quite agree. The Sky commentator described it as a stunning win to which some Villa wag in the pub shouted out 'it's only fucking Liverpool'. Boy, did the bindippers not like that which of course made it even funnier

I am still in shock. I mean, Liverpool are a really good team and we just snuffed out the game once we were ahead.

Wow.
that's it, we snuffed out a very good attacking team.

Love it.

It's a proper dirty dozen team, the old cast offs  and disaffected from other clubs coming together and starting to look better than there individual parts

Did you see them celebrating together at the end, it actually means something

That was comfortable as you like.

I am off for a post-match lash up in Liverpool city centre with five Scouse season ticket holders. I think I might enjoy myself tonight.
