I will go with what has been said by everybody about the first half. I thought the second half we sat back and fell into the old ways of trying to play the game standing still with long passes/long punts up the pitch. In the first half there was great movement and the passing was a lot shorter as players were finding space. Also in the first half balls were put in front of the fullbacks. Second half passes went behind them and they had to turn or in most cases passing the ball back. My biggest frustration is seeing Villa keeping possession and working the ball up to the half way line in the centre of the pitch and then playing a 25 yard pass back which then usually ends with a big boot forward or even more frustratingly back to Guzan.
Sanchez seems to have come in for a bit of stick but it is not easy to come on when the other team has all of the possession and suddenly change it. What I did see was him trying to get Villa play further up the pitch by pointing to which players needed closing down and positioning himself half way between the halfway line and the penalty area rather than on the edge of the area and trying to get Delph and Westwood to play in front of him more. As others have said it was a needless free-kick to give away but that tends to be very common in South America. As I said, difficult to get into a game quickly for a player that plays his position and I think Lambert should have brought him on earlier as it was clear that Hull were dominating possession from the start of the 2nd half.
All in all, cannot complain with another win and a steady start to the season.
