Att: 28,336. I think that's the lowest crowd for years.

Deserved the three points anyway but that was a lot more difficult near the end than it needed to be.

Positives

Solid at the back, Gabby and Weimann were much improved, Grealish had a great cameo, pressing a lot higher up the pitch forced lots of mistakes from the awful Hull back three including for the goal

Negatives

full backs offering no width going forward, midfield disappearing in second half, Sanchez being miles off the pace when he came in, Nzogbia

Steve Bruce's tactics played straight in our hands in the first half. Gas as before the game the commentator was bigging up Davies and Huddlestone for England call ups. Only when they were taken off did they improve

We need more quality to come in over the next 2 days badly

Grealish looking promising.

He is a talent. Why doesn't he wear shin pads though? It just makes it more likely that he will get hurt.  >:(

I reckon jack will be a 20 a season man, not goals, but yellow cards against him

It was 4 just for today wasn't it? 20's probably being conservative.

Could have been 4-0 up at half time. Even at 2-1, Delph had a chance to play Grealish in and instead got greedy and had a crap shot. Its things like that will stop him from being an England regular.

Really good first half, disappointing second half but all that matters was getting the points. When the fixtures came out we knew we had to make the most of the first 3 games and we have done. Hopefully we can still nick some points from the next few fixtures.

I do like that despite the hatchet job they were doing on him, he didn't seem fazed. He still looked for the ball. He's tougher than he looks. It was clearly planned, should he come on, that they'd muller him a few times to try and unsettle him. He was on no more than 10 seconds before Rosenior clattered him. Delph should have done a little better at the end from Jacks ball too.

Lovely feeling to go into an international break third and with a win. Hopefully, Vlaar has time to recover and we might see Okore and Benteke on the bench for our next game - bindippers away?

Grealish looks great. Bit worried about his lack of shin pads, mind!

Excellent stuff, I was out and when I finally got some mobile phone reception checked the score it was 2-0. Sounds like we were excellent in the first half, and dipped a bit in the second. Hopefully Vlaar isn't badly injured, it's been a very good start to the season. A couple of good additions and we're in a good position.

He does wear pads they are just the small ones , I'm pretty sure you are not allowed on the pitch with no pads.

Vlaar is a concern as he was holding his calf which has been an issue before.

It was difficult for our full backs today due to them playing with wing backs. Ours would always have a man against them and also then leave the middle exposed.

At least we can probably count on him going nowhere before the window shuts

Really good first half, best in a long while. Much harder than it should have been in the 2nd- Hull were very poor and the game should have been long over by the time they go back into it.

That's the most I've seen of Grealish to be honest and he looks a player.

All in all, very encouraging. Stop the league now, yeah?

How many CL qualifying rounds do you play if you finish third?

Still unbeaten in the league, both strikers amongst the goals, currently sat in the top three, what's not to be pleased about?

There'll be plenty of games this season when we have just cause for concern at the final whistle but today has been a good day.

I'm off out now for a few beers and a curry with my mates (who are all Man Citeh and Man Ure fans) so I will be sure to enjoy the moment!
