According to the official site Lambert has confirmed that both Carlos Sanchez and Joe Cole will be in the squad on Saturday. Baker must be cert to lose his place on the bench, but I wonder who else will. KEA?

KEA could stay, nobody would notice.

I thought you had pre-season imaginings of him as our new attacking midfielder (apols if it was another Lee)?

I think it will be a draw between two mediocre teams.

No, it was me. It was more of a 'vision', and one which may been fueled by stimulants.

Newcastle United fans are celebrating the life of two dedicated fans this season - and we invite our supporters to join them during Saturday's early-afternoon kick-off.

Liam Sweeney and John Alder died on July 17 - two of the 298 killed in the MH17 air disaster.

They were on their way to New Zealand on a 23,000 mile round trip to see their beloved Magpies play.

This dedication was typical of the pair, who rarely missed a match and often attended youth and reserve matches too.

There was a minute's silence and tributes at their opening-day game against Man City at St James Park.

Boss Alan Pardew, assistant manager John Carver, Fabricio Coloccini and managing director Lee Charnley have attended Liam's funeral today.

As well as official tributes, Newcastle fans are applauding in the 17th minute of games - in the same way we did to show our support for the battle with cancer of Stan Petrov in the 19th minute.

We would like our fans to be aware of this touching tribute - and offer them the opportunity to join in.

0-1 defeat. We'll be fine, but we tend to struggle against this lot.

I'm usually optimistic, but have started this season predicting two defeats. Hopefully wrong this week as well!

I'm going for a 1-0 win. Bent scoring. I do hope the poor home form has been sorted. It's been going on far too long.

Their summer signings on the whole look really good. I'd be very happy with a point.

I mentioned this in the week but i thought their number 22 Janmaat was bloody awful against Man City so if we can get someone running at him (i think he was playing right back) then that might be something to exploit.

I just looked at the online ticket selector and I'll be amazed if it is that high. I think it could be under 30k.

It might just be that he finds playing against Silva and Jovetic harder than playing against N'Zogbia and Weimann.
