I am trying to kid myself that this is Lambert's first season so he knows he has to build from the back, get some stability into a fragile midfield and then unleash The Beast when he is fit.

Stoke are abysmal. This is here for the taking. Get Grealish on and all the space is there to tear them open.

Well we don't look quite as hopeless as we did last season but how long can Gabby be an automatic starter?

We've been the better side and should be winning 0-1. Overall if we keep getting bodies forward we may take away some points.

Early days but Stoke definitely don't look like the power house unit they were under Pullis. The Britannia isn't the scary place it used to be.

Well I thought we played well that half by and large.

Get Bent on for Gabby so we'll score from the next glaring opportunity. And get Grealish on for either Weimann or N'zogbia so someone actually goes past players

I always find myself thinking this. And then he does play again and I'm reminded why he was sent off to Fulham in the first place...

At the very least we're better defensively. We're not going to be much excitement until we are taken over, but we might not go down if we keep this defending work.

I was worried about the back four, not really playing any games together...but fair play we looked quite organised even though Stoke haven't done jack shit really.

Average, Stoke not really offering a lot, Villa with the better of the few half chances but lacking the killer instinct. Gabby missing a sitter.
Cheers.
