were still in it, and with a striker we would be ahead.

Bent will come on and score. Crouch will come on and score. It will finish 1-1 and everybody will be reasonably happy.

Ali and Richardson and Hutton doing well and when we get the Best back, the goals will come.

Only downside is Gabby. Bad miss and I don't think he should be an automatic first choice.

Agree we look better defensively - Hutton is an upgrade on Lowton, Senderos is an upgrade on Clark or Baker, and Cissokho is an upgrade on Stevens, Bennett, Tony Moon and Bertrand combined. Can't wait to see Sanchez in midfield. We desperately need Benteke back to complete a decent team

For me, Zoggy and Cissokho were the plus points. Zog has been very positive every time he has the ball.
As usual though, gabby and Wiemann flatter to deceive. Very little involvement, with gabby looking very sluggish, even disinterested.
Bent and Grealish on second half and we can win this.

At the very least we're better defensively. We're not going to be much excitement until we are taken over, but we might not go down if we keep this defending work.

Or at least when our new Columbian international plays and ultimately when one of the best young forwards in Europe returns from injury

Afternoon all! Just whizzed back from dropping my daughter and boyfriend at Avignon station to get the Eurostar home to where we are staying near Aix. H and V straight on and quite pleased it is 0-0 so far....

We should be in front. But for Gabby, we would be.

Benteke is going to be out another 6-8 weeks, and Kozak longer.

I worry about where the goals will come from between now and then.

There is no point in being all doom and gloom as this is where we are at at the moment. For me plus points were the 2 fullbacks looked excellent, both going forward and in defence. Richardson and nzog have both looked sharp and Delph has has a lot of the ball in the middle of the park.
Negatives have been gabby and andi both missing good chances, dodgy distribution from guzan

I'm not particularly positive for this season, but when you think that we're missing (excluding any potential new additional signing) 3 first teamers (if you include Kozak) then we're not doing too bad at all considering the number of new signings (and bomb squad members) that are trying to bed in.

I just saw the goals from the Albion match.

Two things. One, what a belter from that thug Cattermole.

Two, what the fuck is going on with the stripeys' kit? Not stripey.
