I use to enjoy going to watch the reserves, now the clueless one has put a end to that to. Every time i look for the result they seemed to have been thrashed

It's been pointed out before that the better reserve players, who would have been playing and probably beating Reading tonight, are out on loan where they will do more good in the long term. I don't know for certain but it seems that the side we're putting out this season is a lot younger and more inexperienced than it used to be, hence the mixed results.

It may be ok putting weak reserve sides out most weeks ,but surely getting thrashed most of the time will do nothing but harm to young players just starting out.

They're not getting thrashed all the time - they won last week - and they're not just starting out. Even an 18 year old will have been playing for Villa sides for years. If Darren Bent had played tonight he might have scored a hat-trick but it wouldn't have counted for anything in the long run.

Just off hand, i can recall 5-0 at Newcastle,4-1 at West Brom and 5-0 last night. All i think you will find in the last month or so.Even the match they won last week was against a Wolves side down to ten men after just 20 minutes and we were lucky to win that.I know i was there!

Serious question - as a regular at their games, do you think that Donacien, Johnson & Gardner would have made much difference?

Johnson no, in my honest opinion he is not good enough to make the step up,not ar Premier or Championship level anyway. Donacien i am not sure about ,i have not seen to much of him to be honest. As for Gardner, well just like Robinson,i think he would make a difference if he  had a Villa manager who believes in him. Look how Lambert treated Robinson on saturday for example. He brought him back from Preston, where by all accounts he has been playing well ,to sit on the bench. When the time came to make a change and take weimann off,did he bring on Robinson on for the last 15 minutes. No he chickened out and brought a midfielder Richardson on instead

But didn't Reading have any of their better reserve players out on loan and therefore not available?

Sorry, what I meant was, would they have made a difference to the score against Reading?

Aston Villa U13s 2 Stoke City U13s 1

An absolute stinker of a game. Quality winning goal by Cam, though. Lovely through ball just in front of the half-way line followed by a strong, powerful run battling against two Stoke City defenders and finished off with a sweet strike from the right hand edge of the penalty area across the goalkeeper into the far left hand corner of the goal.

Lyons-Foster is a brilliant name for a CB.
A cross of Micky Lyons and Steve Foster

Oh dear, the latest humiliation of our once great club! Knocked out of the F A Youth cup at the first attempt at mighty Chesterfield despite leading 2-0 .
