I paid £12 for me and my kids to get in to the Holte suite today....we then paid £8.99 for a very average full english breakfast and then paid well over the odds for drinks for a couple of hours.......I would welcome a more value for money match day experience but it seems that as football fans (especially in the PL) we should expect to pay premium prices for average products

This charging for entry into a pub is a bit rich isn't it? Then again if people are prepared to pay it then they'll keep doing it.

On the last day of last season we paid £2 into the Eddy's but that included a band. That seemed ok.
£3 just to get in isn't ok with me. Especially when the beers expensive too.
It won't survive unless it gets realistic .

I will not, ever, pay to enter a pub. Unless there is an eat all you want buffet or Tony Bennett is singing in the lounge. Preferably both.

Ok its expensive to get in and the beer is too  but credit to them.
They have done a great job and it was a great place to have a beer in while the traffic dies down..

That's the point. They're doing something a bit different in the area and they've only got twenty or so days a year to recoup their investment. You can pay three quid to go somewhere decent or nothing to go into one that's rundown. The choice is yours.

The point about them only taking decent money 20 days a year is a valid point and one i hadn't considered, but i still think £3 entry is a little steep for a pub. I always thought the Holte Suite was pricey but at least you get a programme thrown in with your entry fee.

Bloody hell. This industrial estate better be successful to justify such vandalism. The Swan and Mitre is a lovely building.

The Swan is not part of that fortunately. I had a chat with her yesterday and she just thinks it is the right time for them to move on but she is conscious of selling to the right people so with luck it will stay pretty much as it is.

At this rate there'll only be a handful of pubs left around the ground
