Arsenal can play some excellent football, but their insistence on only ever playing 100 short passes through the middle in the build-up must get annoying for their fans at times.

Arsenal look predictable. Sunderland doing well.

3 straight red cards for Sanchez, Giroud, and Ozil. Every other players to get one yellow card (the other coming on Sunday for Cazorla, the keeper, whoever their defenders are, Walcott, Wilshere and anyone else worthwhile). Lots of injuries too. just pulls and strains and dead legs nothing too serious, you know, just enough.

Talking of red cards, I see Fabregas has had his from Monday night reduced to a one game ban. I'm not sure the FA would have been quite as charitable had it been us.

What were the reasons they gave for that? Surely it was either a 3 game ban for violent conduct, or not worthy of a red card at all?

Chelsea argued that a 3 game ban was 'excessive' and the FA rolled over and agreed.

Just like the Matic one from earlier in the season.

Figures. A new offence of 'slightly violent conduct but not really'.

A Sunderland win also means Arsenal can't relax for their last game as they could still be caught by Manure and get dumped into the CL play-offs. I assume 4th place still have to do a qualifying round.

Sunderland draw has to be the best result.  Makes them safe.  Leaves ManU requiring a too a big goal swing to overhaul Arsenal, giving Hull a better chance on Saturday to send Newcastle down.

This is what Arsenal did in the Swansea defeat. 2 passes for every 1 needed, too slow, fail to score. Timbo is surely there watching and plotting strong defence + counter attacks?

I'd rather Arsenal have to play everyone in the last game than bother about what may relegate Newcastle.

They exercised the 'Chelsea' clause.

If i were a Sunderland fan, I'd have vomited up at least one, and possibly both of my kidneys in the last few minutes.

Newcastle always do better against us each year than either Hull or Sunderland do.

Them going down is likely to benefit Villa far more than the impact Arsenal's final match will have on their cup final performance.
