I loved the way we reacted to Lampard and Terry at VP a couple of seasons ago. Terry down injured for ages and gets non stop abuse, even as he's getting carried off on a stretcher. Lampard leaves the field having scored twice, one a later winner that could relegate us, and he gets a standing ovation.

We know an utter wanker when we see one, we also know a quality player when we see one. I know which reaction i'd have bet on Slippy getting.

Why would I give a standing ovation to  a player who spent most of his time in games against us trying to cheat and win free kicks or pens?

It was a definite foul by Petrov. I mean he stood there on the pitch and everything!

And this was a dive by Boateng that got Lord Saint Queen of all our Hearts Stevie sent off.

Am I alone in hoping for a tough, bruising, overly physical encounter between ManUre & the Arse?

I prefer Arsenal, and would like them to beat Man United, and if they could do it with a few injuries and sendings-off I'd like them even more.
See I knew you liked football in its purest form!

Although it is nice to see a picture of both Liverpool's most legendary player and Villa's most legendary player in action. Right up there with that shot of Mackay and Bremner.

What can I say, I'm a hopeless romantic.

Re Gerrard, comparing him and Lampard the last few years has really settled the issue for me. True, Lampard's not the player he was either, but his technique and understanding of football have enabled him to settle into a new role, to still be a bit useful. Gerrard, shorn of his Hulk Hogan-like mania and physical drive, has just become basically a nothing player.

So who's going to be relegated then? Now that we can relax for the final week, what about the three still in the mix?

The current situation is:

16Sunderland36-2037
17Newcastle37-2536
18Hull37-1834

Remaining fixtures are:

Arsenal v Sunderland
Chelsea v Sunderland

Newcastle v West Ham

Hull v Man Utd

So, who do you want to go down and who do you think will go down?

I reckon Hull are going to drop, although I'm hoping they get 3 points on the weekend.

Controversial and unpopular choice there.....

Quite. I'd just like West Ham to prove it's not just us who think their various calamities are a little bit funny.

I reckon Brendon Rodgers has been incredibly lucky in the last 2 seasons. Last year Suarez and Sturridge got Liverpool into the Champs League ( they scored 50 goals last season, as much as the entire squad have scored this season) and their absolutely shocking end of season form this year was only masked by the sad passing of Gerrard. May he rest in peace. Rodgers will be exposed next season as the poor manager that I reckon he is

There would definitely be an element of schadenfreude if the Geordies go. Especially after Carver's comments.
