I'm no fan of either player or either club but in response to all the Gerrard guff, Paul Scholes was arguably twice the player and although he retired twice, received half the adulation.

I've no beef against Hull and despite the history Bruce has with some of our least liked opponents, I could never bring myself to hate him, but there was moment on MOTD last night where the camera showed Bruce and Phelan on the touchline and I suddenly recalled Easter Saturday 1993 and allowed myself a little smile.

I'm waiting for the Stevie G fans helpline number to be announced for all those struggling to come to terms with his leaving. Like when Robbie Williams left Take That.

Watching the build up to the Conference play off, it seems Bristol Rovers are playing but not much on the opposition. Bit like their FA Cup semi final build up.

Hope it's a similar result, come on Grimsby.

The Rovers manager seems to fancy himself a bit.

1-1. Not sure why the Bristol hipster goalkeeper wasn't sent off for his handball outside the area and for having a stupid hipster beard.

It's a cracking game but I'm beginning to really hate Bristol Rovers. That Taylor bloke has so far rolled about I the floor clutching his face as if he's been leathered by Mike Tyson and now dived for a penalty which the referee thankfully saw, took an instant dislike to their cocky manager as well.

All set up for their hipster keeper to be the hero in the penalty shoot out whilst the cheating, hipster striker scores the winning penalty.

Am I alone in hoping for a tough, bruising, overly physical encounter between ManUre & the Arse?

I prefer Arsenal, and would like them to beat Man United, and if they could do it with a few injuries and sendings-off I'd like them even more.

injuries, crowd trouble, red and yellow cards everywhere, Wenger going tooled up and opening some C***. Yeah, I'm up for that, too.

You're hoping Wenger goes all Jean Claude van Damme on them? That he becomes the Menace from Alsace, so to speak? Sounds fun. Maybe he could get a £200k fine.
