I'm looking forward to Hull getting their three best players sent off and Arsenal ripping them a new one.

Yes please.

With respect, this is all down to the interpretation of the referee of Law 12.  It can be construed as either if you so wish.  It can be viewed as a deliberate kick, in which case why wasn't the player sent off for serious foul play?  Or, it can be viewed as dangerous play within the spirit of the laws, in which case it's an indirect free kick.  I've looked again at FIFA's Law 12 and all I see is it's either direct or indirect all dependent on the interpretation of the referee.

We're not going to agree on this one.  If I had been the referee in that match on Saturday, my decision would have been to award an indirect free kick to Sunderland for dangerous play.  For most of you had you been the referee then you would have given the penalty as did Saturday's match official.

I'd have awarded a free-kick to Southampton and sent the Sunderland player off.

I'd have awarded the penalty to Southampton and sent the Sunderland keeper off.

My own simpleton view on it is that in today's game it was a penalty, before Sky it wouldn't have been. It shouldn't have been a penalty.

Gary Cahill's been at Chelsea for three and a half years and has won 1 x Premier League title, 1 x FA Cup, 1 x League Cup, 1 x Champions League and 1 x Europa League.

There can't be many players who have won pretty much every major club trophy in such a short period of time.

and MON thought he was surplus to requirements!
Yes but... But MON didn't really wanted to win any of those. He just wanted people to recognise how brilliant he was in making us sixth place team in the League.

Not sure arsenal are quite on it yet. Could do with an early goal to settle everything down

Very good decision by Newcastle to keep Carver till end of the season. You have to admire strong resolve shown by their board :)
