I feel like I have waken from a coma and the football world has changed. How are Wales top of a qualifying group after five games?

Add to that Iceland are 5 points clear of Holland, Slovakia 3 points ahead of Spain, Germany are behind Poland and level on points with Scotland, Northern Ireland have 3 times as many points as Finland and Austria are top of a group containing Sweden and Russia.

It's possible, but unlikely that all of the teams from the British Isles will qualify. England are certainties, Wales are looking very good so far. Northern Ireland have a great chance too. I can see both Scotland and Republic of Ireland qualifying, think Poland and Germany will take up 2 of the top 3 spots in the group.

It's a result of having 24 teams in the Finals - once you take out the real no-hopers, Gibraltar, Andorra, Scotland etc, about half the teams will qualify.

Oi!!

Hoping Scotland qualify ahead of Ireland, so that I can lick Aiden McGeady's tears. We've played bloody well so far, very unlucky not to get a draw away to the current world champions.

At the time of writing I was correct. Then it all changed.  Game of two halves and all that.

Something on Twitter about Okore needing a scan on a swollen knee. Hope it's bollocks.

Unfortunately it's not his bollocks and apparently true about his knee and he's a doubt for the weekend now.

Surely Vlaar is back at the weekend? Ridiculous the amount of time him and Senderos have been out for.

I just hope he's fit for the QPR game.

Do we have four defenders available for Saturday?

Going by that table maybe not. I assume Sanchez would go in at the center if needed and Bacuna out wide?

I wouldn't risk that I'd go

Bacuna.  Clark. Hutton. Lowton
