Ok, to be fair, Davis should have gotten carded for that.

From the Graun:

Quote
68 min: On the BBC, Martin Keown is convinced that the ball had to have touched Rooney for the goal to have been disallowed. Is that the law? It wasn’t the law when Alex Song’s goal for West Ham was disallowed against Arsenal in December. I think that Rooney put the goalkeeper off with his movement.

The ball didn't touch Rooney so it's not offside according to the commentators. I don't know what constitutes interfering with play though.
Think that's what they mean Stu - Rooney not touching the ball means he wasn't interfering...apparently. The fact that he took a step back to avoid making contact with it and blocking the keeper's view makes the rule completely stupid!

Would be good for Preston to hold on for a draw at least give LVG an extra game to moarn about ;)

And also have the fans forced into buying a cup ticket or forfeit another league match.

Althoug might be a moot point now.

Really hope Arsenal knock this lot out but they bottle it at Old Trafford more than we do.

It really is a shoddy piece of legislation; clear as mud.

I want Man United to win, as they stand more of a chance of beating Arsenal, who are the best side left in it.

Yeah big ask now for Preston.  Will certainly be cheering for Arsenal in the next round if it stays like this.
