We need to grow some balls chaps

I'm neither afraid of them on nor off the pitch. I'm not afraid of Middlesbrough town centre either. I'd just rather not see either ever again.
Poetry. Love it.

I've absolutely no doubt that if we played them now we'd lose. But even if we won, we still wouldn't come out of the tie with any credit. We're expected to win. After all the unnecessary fretting and pressure and grief, all we'd get out of it is a sense of relief. Which is why I'd rather not play them ever again.

Hope we can win tomorow and then draw blues in the next round
It would be the most exciting thing to have happened in a good while
Sweet Jesus what a bad idea

We need to grow some balls chaps

If we play them and beat them its expected so nothing to crow about, if we play them and loose we'll never hear the end of it. Add the high possibility of trouble into the mix and I fail to see the positive side.

Add me to the long list of people who can live the rest of my days without that fixture.

So basically you are scared to play them in case we lose

Lambert's already rained a load of humiliations down onto us.  This scenario would be the ultimate one.

In any case, lets concentrate on getting through first.  Not a guarantee going by recent seasons.

Credit where credit is due: at present we would struggle to overcome a single goal deficit.

As for playing them in the next round.  No, thank you.  Not least because the last time we played them in a cup competition they went on to win the bloody thing.

No, read it again, whatever the result I take little positive from the games against that lot.

This is nothing about being scared off the pitch. It's the embarrassment that would unfold on it.
I suspect it would be like another enckleman night the way we are currently playing.

They're a division below us. We might not be great but we're mid-table. We're better than them.

Fully agree. On paper.
However as you know in derby and to a degree cup games the form book goes out the window .

Fair play.
Not for me, though.
