Am I right in thinking that the ref who sent off Gabby is the same man who booked Fabregas for a dive when he was clearly fouled and should have awarded a pen to Chelsea against Southampton?
No that's was Anthony Taylor, Mason is the ref who failed to send off Walters for a foul on Baines when he was quite clearly the last man. They are all as bad as each other.
To be honest I don't think there's any conspiracy going on but making refs professional & paying them hasn't made the standards of refereeing any better. Also the constant upgrading of the types of 'offences' that now warrant a red card doesn't help nor the constant over reaction of 'injured' players & their team mates..
I see it every week, about half the results of games in the Premier League are directly influenced by wrong decisions by the officials. At the highest levels of the game we need the ability to challenge a decision at the time the decision is made. It's no good to us, 5 days after the match, that the PL agree Gabby's sending off was wrong. Where's the justice in that?
