That's a quiz question I would have got wrong then. I associate Gary Charles as right back in His teams.

He was, if you remember though Charles had a really bad injury, at home to West Ham iirc.

Johnny Gavan is another player i had forgotten all about. He was the reserve goal keeper to Colin Withers in the mid 60s

Oscar Arce

Didn't play in a first team match, although many think he did. Neither did his brother Hector who was the better player.

No neither played, Oscar's Villa zenith was scoring in a 5-1 Central League defeat against Blackpool at Villa Park, a trademark free kick.
Hector was the better player, but they were both jettisonned when Tomy Doc arrived.
Oscar Arce played 7 reserve games and one ill-fated friendly against Bedford in which he was sent off for spitting at an opponent, who objected to him juggling the ball and kicked him up in the air!

I remember that fucking Bedford friendly.  For me, that was as low as it ever got.

Forgot to add, I'm still angry about it.

I can confirm that Dave. Although I didnt go it would appear that Luis Fullone (Oscars real name quizzers!) came on just before half time (replaced Mick Wright) and objected to Bedford players tackling him which they did with gusto!. Got into a few arguments with the ref and the opposition but didn't get sent off. Bruv Hector replaced Dave Rudge towards the end

Last heard of training in Morrocco.

Dick Edwards played at right back in this match, Dave, and John Chambers at centre back!
