Tommy Craig looked a really cracking buy for our midfield.Lots of skill,hard tackler,good engine. Unfortunately that was for Newcastle. For us he had a couple of good games and that was about it!

I've posted this before, john Inglis was the worst player I've ever seen play for the Villa, bar none!

Remember him well - thought he was gonna be a Villa legend - short, stocky, no-nonsense, red-headed, tough fu**er.
He was okay, then left and played much better for somebody else.

On Tommy Craig, IIRC, he was A main target for us.  I can't remember the manager, Tommy Doc?  Craig took his time in deciding who would be the better choice us or Sheffield Wednesday.  He opted for Wednesday where he didn't actually tear up any trees.  His reason for going there?  It was closer to Scotland!

Eventually maybe but I'm talking about our first interest in him when he was a youngster with Aberdeen, well before Ron's time.
