I'm starting to wonder if we should play three at the back. Hull usually play with two strikers, and three centre backs as a system was designed to counter this. That's why it worked so well against Liverpool - two man-markers and a sweeper. But then how would we play Albrighton? I don't know what to do. It's desperate.

I'd go three at the back and two full backs mainly because our midfield is so weak and more importantly, we can't afford to lose.

Yep, 'cause it worked so well at Palace

I'd forgot we played five at the back against Palace. It didn't look like we did though.

Guzan, Lowton, Clark, Vlaar and Bertrand at the back.

Delph, KEA and Westwood in midfield.

Bacuna and Albrighton eitherside of Gabby.

So long as we avoir defeat i think we will be safe. I dread to think what the atmosphere will be like if we lose and will the players come out after full time?

At least we've got Baker to deal with Long.

The only danger to Long is if he gets too close to Baker's beard he may get an irritating itch.

In any other era, Long would have won himself a transfer to us with the arseholing he gave Baker last time up.

Gabby could be a really good bench option, whatever the score, just to stretch the game when everyone's a bit tired, and to make those Hull players wonder if they can really be bothered chasing down a fresh Gabby in the 70th minute with that Cup final coming up.

That's Gabby's proper position in a decent side (well, even in an average side really). However, he'll start for the current version of Aston Wegoagain.

Palace played three up front, or one (depending how you look at it). Three at the back is a catastrofuck against 4-3-3, but can work well against 4-4-2 or another 3-5-2.

4-4-2

Holt and Helenius up top to rough up Davis and Chester, neither of whom are very big. Albrighton and Bacuna down the sides. Lowton in as he can also cross a ball well and get Delph/ Kea running into the box too.

Won't happen, but it is how I would play it.

Lambert's Villa will lose. 3-1 with the final goal being a last 5 minute break away.

Long to get 2.

Baker to start and look like a shambles at centre half. Shave the beard son, only the great Swede was worthy of it, you are not my friend. No way.

Curtis Davis is 6ft 2ins (in real money) I think thats quite big. Also he is ex Villa and will no doubt score with a header from a corner three minutes before the end . Hopefully we will have managed a goal before then.....or maybe not. Marc keep shooting!

Can Callum Robinson play the Marcus Allbäck role and score the late winner? Now that would be an absolutely wonderful thing to celebrate towards the end of a shitful season.

I still consider Allbäck a bit of a hero for that goal even though he wasn't much chop with the Villa.

Getting rid of him so soon was a little rash-er.
